Can anyone help me out with a couple of trivia questions?

If Clarence Seedorf wins the CL this season, he will have won it with Ajax, Real Madrid and Milan, has anyone else won the European Cup with 3 clubs, or even better in 3 countries?

Also can anyone remember the club that Bobby Charlton mangaed in his short career?

Thanks in advance.

I can think of many 2-time winner with 2 different clubs in 2 countries.

R.Koeman -- PSV & Barcelona
Rijkaard -- Milan & Ajax
Savicevic -- Read Star & Milain
Deschamps -- Marsellies & Juventus
Desailly -- Marsellies & Milian
Paulo Sousa -- Dortmond & Juventus

I doubt anyone could have done it before the 1990's. The movement of players between different countries are very limited due to the foreign player regulation in most European clubs. If a player played in more than 3 leagues, he must have been a foreign player twice.

The Liverpool, Ajax and Bayern Munich won their European Cups with basically all-domestic players. The Italian and Spanish clubs might have more foreigners.

Bobby Charlton was in Preston North End.

Cheers, I knew a few of the people with two, all the Milan boys and Paolo Sousa, but I couldn't think of anyone with three. It'll be a good quiz question if Milan can do it.

The first player to win the trophy with two different clubs was Miodrag Belodedici - Steaua Bucharest in 86 and Red Star in 91.

I meant 3 Cups for 3 teams in 3 different countries. I don't think anyone before the 1990's can achieve that.... I think that I am right. check this one....

Belodedici is the first player to win the EC for 2 different clubs in 2 different countries. He is not the first player to win the EC for 2 different cup. Saul Malatrasi won one for Inter Milian in 1965 and for AC Milian in 1969.

True.
From 4th May 1973 to 21st August 1975.

He got us relegated into (old) division 3.
Not strictly fair really because we'd been loitering around the lower reaches of the division for the previous few seasons.

Nobby Stiles also had a go at managing us from '77 to '81 - who did ok until he too got us relegated, more success than Bobby though.

As far as I know, Didier Deschamps is the player that's been the closest to doing it with three teams, having won it with Olympique Marseille and Juventus and lost in the final with Valencia.

Were you reading the Seedorf profile at the current issue of World Soccer? That first statement said that he might become the first player to do it. :)

No I was having an argument about whether Milan were ************ or not, and whether Seedorf was ************ or not. It just made me think that he could be the first to do it, I really hope that both he and Milan can do it.

Another question for you. Ryan Giggs has just picked up his 8th english title, can anyone match this? BTW I know people like gento have 12 in other countries, so I'm just talking about England.

I think Alan Hansen won 9 for Liverpool.

I've never quite understood how Seedorf got as far as he did. He can play the game, he can play it pretty good, but even at Ajax I was never THAT impressed with him.

Seedorf was at the right place at the right time. If he starts at PSV and went to Barcelona, he would not have won two CL titles.

I just found out that Giggs now holds the record along with Hansen, Phil Neal and Kenny Dalgliesh. He will surely get another if he stays at United for a few more years.
