I don't know where I picked it up, but for some reason sqwire.com (don't go there same thing might happen) keeps becoming my home page.
I reset it to something else and within a day it's reset to sqwire.
So I deleted all temporary internet files and cookies.
And it's just done it again!

Other than doing the whole 'reset the system thing' - is there anything I can do?
I wouldn't mind, but as a search engine it's total crap.

Update:

I'm on dial-up so when I start it up, the homepage comes up which is now the one that I want (and seems to be staying that way).
But if I click the little 'e' for another window, it's the sqwire page that comes up.

The "Browser Hijack" forum over at SpywareInfo.com and ask your question there. No need to register. They helpled me get rid of the infamous LOP spyware/browser hijacker.

Sounds to me like you have a program that hijacked your homepage settings and keeps resetting them.

Thanks for the info.

I had similar thoughts but but it only seems to make sqwire my homepage when I want a new window and not at start up - when the homepage I actually want actually appears.

I sorted it out.
I went to that site and they recommended that spy-bot thing. Used it and they helped me take various things out.

Ironic thing is that the PC is now kaput. PSU went on it, which frazzled a few other things - the C drive mainly.
Though we still haven't fully done the diagnostics, so it could (apparently) have done the MB too.

Really didn't want to have to buy a new one - but we'll see if the insurance covers it.

A GREAT place to go to get rid of those parasite programs that hijack your browser and do other nasty things.

One of my coworkers downloaded something a few months ago and had that Xupiter crap on her browser :( and I was able to get rid of all of it :D
