The new Ronaldo thread....
He's still shitting on the whole on England, but this speculation is depressing. Lets hope he can carry his form to the bigger games.

Ronaldo - to become MUFC's highest paid player?

I doubt it, and I hope not. He still has a ways to go before he can reach that status like Ruud, Keane and Rio have.

Rio isnt exactly a legend like the other two, but the fact that he's pretty much been the best defender that we've had since Stam, and he's still young (in Centerback years) and he's always been one of the top three (maybe two) performers in the team at the end of a season.

If Ronaldo asked to be on equal pay as the current highest earners in the Man Utd dressing room, or he would request a transfer to spain, would you agree or tell him that nobody blackmails Manchester United and shove him out the door.
Surely if you become the best player at a club and are wanted by all the other top sides in europe, it would not be an unreasonable request.

But, then he has to be considerate to the club. I wouldnt put him on a 100kp/w until he shows he can consistantly play like this. He's done half years over his last couple of seasons, and so far so good for this season. But lets say with two years on his contract I'd evaluate the situation, and if he's playing atleast this good down the road, a higher salary wont be a question.

Evra on Ronaldo transfer rumours
"Any agent asking for a transfer request for Cristiano Ronaldo would have to come with a bazooka. Sir Alex Ferguson would know exactly how to welcome him. Protective equipment would be needed before going into the manager's office."

Contentious Penalty + Ronaldo = Dive
Wouldn't be surprised to see a media uproar over this latest incident. FWIW, I thought there was contact even if it was minimal. Only Ronaldo knows whether he made the most of it or if the contact was enough to bring him down. But I'm willing to wager that Berbatov's dive won't even get half the attention Ronaldo will.

Plus, Ronaldo never made a meal of it. He didn't roll around clutching at his ankle in pain. He looked over to the ref and got up. But we all know he's a Portuguese cheat and should be scrutinized to hell until he goes away.

Wait so you believe he didn't dive? I actually am asking you, I haven't seen it (I used radio for the match) so I haven't seen anything yet. But everything I've heard makes me think he dived. Other posters, the Century FM guys, etc all sounded like a dive.
Berbatov's was pathetic, but Ronaldo has a rep and that's why we'll hear about it. But he did do it, and I wish he'd cut it out of his game. Every time his rep starts rising, he does something stupid like this.
