I just watched Sky Sports, and they showed a newspaper headline (I don't know which paper) that said something about a 'probe' into the signing of Mascherano by the Hammers.
The story said that if there were proven improprieties in the signing, West Ham could be penalized points! If that is the case, goodbye Premiership!
Does anyone have any info. on this? It might be bullsh*t of course.

This is the article. Also a possible reason why Tevez didn't play against Liverpool. Wild guess Brown accepted the deal thinking KIA would own the club eventually.

My own conclusion is surely if the EPL registered the players we must be in the clear.

If not concrete boots for Uncle Terry.

P.S The Dailly bucking mail seems to have a vendetta against us.

The Mail on Sunday today has another detailed story about the Tevez and Mascherano affair. If they were indeed owned by the Iranians who tried to buy the club, it looks as if there could indeed be a serious breach of the rules, and points could be deducted.
The other clubs in relegation trouble will be thrilled, and already are saying stuff like: 'We must all follow the rules'. They're all hoping for this to cost the Hammers. I think that it's a serious problem, and doesn't look good.

I have no idea if this a reliable source of information or not, it's from London Lite, I've never heard of them;

Hammers' lucky let off

West Ham are likely to escape serious censure after the controversy over Argentina starts Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.

The Premiership strugglers, favourites for relegation after another away defeat -1-0 to Aston Villa - could have points deducted if the Premier League, who meet to discuss the matter on Tuesday, decide on the sanction.

West Ham are accused of being in breach of a Premier League rule which says that the clubs and not third parties must own their players. The club, it is allged, also failed to provide the necessary documentation relating to the Argentine pair when they arrived at the club last august.

Although West Ham hold the players' registration, Mascherano is allegedly part-owned and Tevez solely owned by Iran-born businessman Kia Joorabchian who, at that time, headed a consortium interested in taking over the club.

However, as the deal was struck by the previous West Ham regime. It is unlikely, given the circumstances, that West Ham will be punished by the loss of points.

West Ham manager Alan Curbishley cannot risk playing Tevez until after a decision is reached, while Mascherano's move to Liverpool is on hold until the matter is settled.

Curbishley, meanwhile, is hoping to have new signings Lucas Neill back for what he describes as a 'must-win' game, at home to fellow relegation candidates, Watford on Saturday.

Brown actually said the full documentation had been provided to the premier league. It had been accepted and the players had been registered. Surely if they signed 4 year contracts then they are in effect hammers.
I'm sure he took them on thinking KIA would buy the club.

London Lite and This is London are the two free evening papers which were launched last year.

They are given away out side tube stations etc. in order to cut into the Lahn Eeen Stahnar trade.

Whilst a good thing for being free, there is currently a backlash because of all the litter they make.

I remember those, every fifty yards, there were folks passing that out. Got to the point of just carrying one in your hands to show the other 30 or so that you already had it so they would not pester us.
