Carrick gets my vote today, he was brilliant in controlling the game yesterday... Just look what happened when he went off.

Carrick and Vidic both stood out for me. Carrick gets my vote because he controlled the midfield in the absence of Scholes, and even made JOS look good.

I will vote for Carrick. Despite the opponent is lowly Watford, Carrick run the game in our midfield today; he shows some promise on what he can do.

Close second is O'Shea; he did his job extremely well today which is basically passing the ball to Carrick :p

Ronaldo for me.

Whilst we had good possession throughout the game, in the first half in particular we seemed to lack a real cutting edge at times and struggled for any real penetration. That is apart from when Ronaldo was on the ball who's runs were comitting defenders and helping create space for team mates. Ultimately they didn't lead to much but at a time where no-one else was hugely effective in causing any real danger to the Watford backline I felt that this was vital in preventing the team as a whole becoming frustrated.

He got the breakthrough goal too and yes, it was a penalty so I'd expect him to score but it was also important in lifting some of the burden of pressure that seemed to be appearing on the shoulders of one or two of our players.

Even after we took the lead we still didn't really hammer home the dominance we had in posession by turning it into chances and there was kind of a slow pace/feel to proceedings. Once again, I felt that Ronaldo was the one main spark we had right up until half time. I suppose I'm voting more along the lines of MVP than man of the match here as whilst he would have a shout to be the best player of the duration of the game I'm not sure I'd go that way in the end. For offering something different in the first half where others looked slightly lacking in ideas he gets my vote as without him I feel we may have struggled and perhaps even lost heart.

I chose Ronaldo because he was our cutting edge, as said above.

But Carrick was right there man. I criticized him earlier in the season, but man has he stepped up. He looked awesome yesterday playing next to an immobile turd. Sorry to whoever said O'Shea looked good, but for the majority of the game, I forgot he was even on the pitch. Ok, then, I guess the more invisible he is, the better he looks.
