Just like in Boxing when you become the champ if you beat the champ.
In 2006 it went this way:
- Sao Paulo beats liverpool 1x0 and become World Champs in Decemeber 2005
- Sao Paulo lost to SANTO ANDRE 1x0 18 JAN
- Santo Andre lost to NOROESTE 4 x 2 Jan. 22
- Noroeste lost to SANTOS 1x0 Feb. 8
- Santos lost to GUARANI SP 2x1 Mar.12
- Guarani lost to SAO CAETANO 2x0 Mar. 18
- Sao Caetano lost to SANTO ANDRE 2x1 Abril 2 (Santo Andre BiCampeao Mundial)
- Santo Andre lost to PALMEIRAS 3x1 Abril 9
- Palmeiras lost to CERRO PORTENHO (PAR) 3x2 Abril 13 (LIBERTADORES)
- Cerro portenho lost to TACUARY (PAR) 1x0 Abril 26
- Tacuary lost to 12 de Octubre (PAR) 2x1 April 30
- 12 de Octubre lost to Sportivo Luqueno (PAR) 5x0 May 6

CERRO PORTENO didnt lose again and so is Linear Champs of 2006. Way to go Cerro :)
The Title left Brazil and went to paraguay when Brazilian Palmeiras lost a Libertadores match to Cerro.
In 2007 so far:
- INTERNACIONAL beats Barcelona 1x0 and becomes World Champs in December 2006
- Inter (reserves) lose to ULBRA 3x1 Jan 27
- Ulbra loses to VERANOPOLIS 2x1 Jan 31
So Brazilian team Veranopolis is the current Linear World Champion Belt holder :) Even though Inter used a 3rd reserve team while the World Champs vacationed...its still an oficial game :(
