The FA hasn't ratified his move yet! he have to wait some more days to play, but he is training with the team and should play as soon as he gets green light from the FA.

TBH I like this move. At first I wanted him out of england. But after reading a article on how rafa benitez came to his house asking him why he was going to choose juve over liverpool and how he explained to him how he would be used if he came to liverpool, I got a little more excited for him. Now if rafa lives up to what he says and actually plays him(unlike some other coaches in england) than I think with xavi alonso and stevie gerrard with him in the middle, liverpool will be a great home for him.

This is a bad move. He's going to be on the bench
all season, ousted by Gerrard, Alonso and a guy
named Momo. His whole season will have been
a waste and his growth as a player hindered.

When is the FA going to decide on Masch? I suspect something is fishy about the whole situation.

the premier league have finally at last sanctioned the deal ,if mascherano puts in the work and proves himself he will find himself above sissoko in the pecking order and could do enough to force gerrard out wide. This is a big chance hope he grabs it.

Masche started for Liverpool in a 4-0 victory over Sheffield. Looks like El Jefecito is back. :)

yes, he is back.:) he was little nervous for about 2o mins but after that he gained some confident and played very wekk. His second half performance was very good. Sheffield utd were playing with 5 midfielders but still Liverpool were owning the midfield.:p He had a fantastic debut.

I watched the Liverpool - Sheff Utd match just to see Javier Mascherano.
I felt he had a good game but was a bit slow to adjust to the pace of the match. However this was his 1st competitive game for a long time and i KNOW he will be a good purchase for Liverpool.:o
He showed some neat touched and was very good positionally.
The only problem for Javier is the competition for places in Centre Midfield.
With Steven Gerrard, Xavi Alonso & Momo Sissoko all possibly ahead (for now) of Javier.
He will feel more at home at Anfield because of the massive Spanish & S American presence, & the better footballers will help him also.:)

He didn't play today. Wasn't even on the bench. I think he'll get some time against Barcelona.

I think Benitez may spring a 'shock' on many Liverpool fans and play Mascherano instead of Xabi Alonso in a midfield 3 alonside Sissoko & Gerrard. :)
Javier looked tired at the end of the Sheff United game last week which is not surprising since it was his first 90 minutes for many months.
Steven Gerrard rated Mascherano as one, if not THE best centre midfielder of his age bracket. Saying in training he had been amazing:eek:
I think Mascherano could spell the end of Alonso's Liverpool career, with Barcelona waiting to snap him up:o
