Today Lyon travel to Marseille for the biggest match of this round of the Coupe. This match could've taken place in the Final and it woul've been a hell of a final. Marseille lost 2-0 to Le Mans on the weekend and Les Gones drew with Nice.
The Lyon squad : Coupet, Vercoutre – Clerc, Réveillère, Cris, Squillaci, Abidal, Tiago, Källström, Juninho, Fabio Santos, Govou, Fred, Baros, Malouda, Müller, Ben Arfa.
Considering the importance of the match and the great start for Baros I would'nt be suprised to seem him start.
My guess for a starting XI:
Coupet
Réveillière-Cris-Squillaci-Abidal
Källström-Tiago-Juninho
Govou-Baros-Malouda

Has Houllier used a 4-4-2 before? He always seemed pretty commited to his 4-3-3, but then again, I guess he ran out of midfielders.
Fabio Santos wasn't cleared to play today. :(

I'm only listening on the radio...but it sounds more like a 4-2-2-1-1 with Fred playing ahead of Baros.

It's like Marseille took Lyon's mojo for themselves.
If Lyon doesn't improve soon, we're going to be crap in Rome.

Dissapointing for sure. This club hasn't won a game against a Ligue 1 squad since the Coupe de la ligue match to Le Mans. That is unacceptable. The players better wake up!!!

You guys are doing worse than us :D
Honestly, I think Lyon got bored, and decided to throw a bone at the rest of the league to get some excitement back, although I didn't expect them to lose against l'oheme like this in a competition I believed they were committed to.
which is a shame, because I wanted us to play Lyon again for the 4th time of the season so that we can finally beat you without having any weird decisions by the refs :D

Last year the OL "crisis" ended at the end of February (OL 1-4 Rennes on 25/02/2006). Patience.

it was a real dogfight, and OM did everything to deserve to win, but OL has nothing to be ashamed of...
the 4-4-2 didn't work very well, except to prove that it's not necessarily the most offensive formation: OL with one striker plays higher up the field than they did last night!
juni was horrible at his FK's except the one that came from what should have been cana's walking papers... there's something that would have changed things, but like i say, herd to take anything away from OM.
my son was confident to the end (govou's last chance... ouch!) but broke down in tears at the final whistle and cried himself to sleep eventually i hope... he was sobbing until past midnight... that takes it out of me more than the loss itself! :o

The 4-4-2 with Baros and Fred up front is a bad idea. They need to play 4-3-3 to be the most successfull. The team is best when Toulalan, Juninho, Tiago, Malouda, Fred, Baros are all out there at the same time with Govou and Wiltord and Benzema coming off the bench.

I remember you saying something about your son taking the Milan loss quite hard last year aswell. It's great to see passion in him. Hopefully we can do well in the Champs league this year, so the guy can tast continental glory!

Houllier should've played Tiago in the middle and let Kallstrom start the game.
