Perhaps ther should be a Jeremiah White at AGF Aarhus thread ..

Link to White leaves Gueugnon thread:

---

Not much news on White, except that AGF sporting Director Brian Steen Nielsen, think that White got all the right qualities to become a player with a great sales potential, if coach Ove Pedersen is able to do his job well.

http://www.foreveragf.dk/news.php?readmore=5560

Coach Pedersen is known to be excellent at developing young talents, and I guess they think that White still is a bit of an unpolished talent, who has a great potential to become a top quality player.

In Denmark they do, Yes.

But perhaps I should add, that AGF head coach Ove Pedersen is considered to be only 2nd to Danish NT coach Morten Olsen (among Danish coaches) and often get offers from abroad. As written, Pedersen is brilliant at developing new talent., and as you perhaps will notice (by looking at the squad) he chose to sign with AGF because of the many young talented players and great potential at the club.

Besides, it is exactly what players want to hear from a Director of Football/Sporting Director/General Manager, that the club is going to make them reach their full potential, add to their skills and then sell them off to a big foreign club :D

AGF beat Viborg 1-0 in a friendly.

Yes, but Jeremiah White did not play because he had to go to France and.. I dont know... perhaps get rid of his apartment and move his stuff to Denmark ?..

In any case, though you may not understand the language, it is still possibe to keep track of the lineup's, score and yellow/red cards in the cool looking Live Update's from ForeverAGF, when White returns from France to play some AGF friendlies :

Yes, he signed a 3½-year contract with AGF a few days ago.

Well he's signed with the team, but he's apparently not in Denmark yet.

Btw, a few more AGF transfers:

Abdul Razak Salifu gets 5-year deal with AGF

AGF have decided to sign a 5-year contract with 18-yo Ghana youth international Abdul Razak Salifu who played for Ghana at the U17 WC finals in Peru in 2005 and is expected to get his debut for the Ghana U20 NT soon. AGF head Coach Ove Pedersen belive that the talented forward got the same kind of qualities but also a bigger pontential than the Ghana WC-06 player Razak Pimpong who he also helped move to Denmark when he was head coach at FC Midtjylland.

Henrik Bundgaard on loan to AC Horsens

The 31-yo AGF 3rd choice keeper Henrik Bundgaard has joined the Danish Superliga side AC Horsens on loan until the end of the season.

AGF managed to sell the 26-yo Swedish International (4 caps, 1 goal) Tobias Grahn to the Spanish top-flight side Gimnàstic de Tarragona, in the very last hours of the transfer deadline. Grahn had been negotiating with top-flight clubs in Germany, Italy and Spain this past week but was not able to come to an agreement over his personal terms with the Germans or the Italians. So he signed a 2½-year contract with Gimnàstic. According to viasatsport.com, the transfer fee is a bit more than $700,000.

AGF winter transfer :

IN:
28-yo central defender, Olof Persson, Sweden, 4 caps (Malmø FF, fee €?)
24-yo D/DM-RM, Kári Árnason, Iceland, 12 caps, 1 goal (Djurgårdens IF, fee $350k ?)
24-yo right winger/forward, Jeremiah White, USA (FC Gueugnon, free transfer)
18-yo forward, Abdul Razak Salifu, Ghana (FC Maamobi, Ghana)

OUT:
26-yo AM/F, Tobias Grahn, Sweden, 4 caps, 1 goal (Gimnàstic de Tarragona, $700k)
22-yo right winger/forward, Jesper Jørgensen (Kolding, fee €?)
31-yo goalkeeper, Henrik Bundgaard (on loan to AC Horsens)
---

I think this looks very good. Tobias Grahn was of no use to AGF anyway because he only had 1-year left of his contract with AGF, of which ½ a year was on loan to OB Odense. Being 26 he had also said that it was time for him to leave Scandinavia to prove his worth in one of the big leagues, so he would just have left AGF more or less on a free transfer, if they had not sold him in this transfer window.

Good moves all around, but we have to hope the Jeremiah signing is the key.

Good moves all around, but we have to hope the Jeremiah signing is the key.

Well, the problem with AGF so far this season has been lack of balance with too many young talents in key positions on the team.. A 23-yo (now 24) goalkeeper, and 18 to 23-yo defenders, a 21-yo holding midfielder + no real punch in right wing position. You simply cant rely too much on too many young youth internationals in a tough fight for promotion, you also need some experienced player in key positions on the team.

Now it looks much better, with Olof Persson (28) being a real Captain in defense and by using two holding midfielders (newly signed Kári Árnason and the Danish U21 international Jens Gjesing), to clean up in midfield, but who at the same time also got the skills and ability to look good when the team attacks....and instead of AGF only being a real threat in left wing position (Lars Pleidrup), then the opponents now also have to worry about a very quick and dynamic Jeremiah White on the right flank.

AGF always got plenty of very good and experienced forwards. Peter Graulund was Danish Superliga topscorer in 2000/01 (scoring 21 goals for Brøndby) and Peter Sand (twin brother of former Danish international Ebbe Sand) is also highly experienced at top-flight level and so is Peter Foldgast who made the Danish 'Superliga goal of the year' in 2003 when he was a regular starter for Brøndby.

Sounds like a great team in the making.

I didn't realize Peter was Ebbe's twin. Ebbe's retired and gone into management at Silkeborg, while his brother is still banging in the goasls.

Ebbe's got all that Schalke money sitting around. He's set.

Hope Jerry someday will be in a similar situation.

And I too.
