Since the clutch has gone out for the third time in two years on my much-abused Kia Rio and since I would need to replace the timing belt a second time within the next 5,000 miles and since I've come to hate the car, I think it's time to get another car.
I could go without a car here in the Seattle area. I have bus lines that will take me directly to work, from there to school, and from school to home. But I still owe two and a half years' worth of payments on the Rio. While the payments are low, it still would irk me to be chucking out that much money for a very large paperweight. So I think I'm going to have to roll the payments into the payments for another car and get on with it.
Here are my requirements for a new car: Automatic transmission. Good gas mileage (yes, I know that manuals get better mileage, but I still want an automatic). A CD player and radio. And that's about it. I do not plan on abusing it by delivering pizza anymore, BTW.
A part of me thinks it would be really cool to have a small truck, perhaps like an older Toyota or Nissan. The accountant side of me clears his throat and says two words: "Gas mileage."
I'd love to get something like the Toyota Matrix, the Honda Fit or the Chevy Aveo. But that's a little more than I want to spend right now. I just need this car to get me through the next two years while I get through school. I am not in as much of a hurry to get a car as I was when I snapped up the Rio. So, how do I go about getting my next car?
Thanks.
