Seems that Rooney's cheeky chip vs. Pompey reminded more than a few people of a similar play and it's creator from a decade ago....

Nice one, still not up yet but whilst I was on youtube I thought I'd have a quick look for another it reminded me of from Andy Cole.

Although slightly different as it's a little closer in it could be argued that because of that it's even better as it was more difficult to get the ball up and down, nice move to beat his man too. :)

It's funny that you mention this. I just listened to the ESPN Soccernet podcast (which I like by the way, you can listen to it on the website), and they were thinking it was a bit overrated.
