I have to go with DoctorJones here, there is no bad sex music. I lost my virginity listening to sports radio at noon on a Thursday (talk about a low-maintence woman). Not very romantic, but who's counting?

On Depeche Mode, there are songs you want to stay away from. New Dress comes to mind (chorus is "Princess Di is wearing a new dress"). "Sometimes" is also out, as is "Barrel of a Gun"- unless you are dating tough biker women or something and the likes of "Blasphemous Rumours" or "I sometimes wish I was dead". Likewise, stay away from "Shake the Disease" and "Pleasure, Little Treasure" because words like 'disease' and 'little' aren't things you want to be hearing right about now.

I would stick to their dancier tracks- solid beats with good rythym. Ignore the words for now, you need to concentrate on the booty.

Enjoy the silence
Stripped (oh yeah)
Stangelove (double oh yeah)
Policy of Truth (ignore lyrics)
Personal Jesus (good for catholic women, who tend to use his name in bed anyway)
Behind the wheel
Blue Dress (for slower type sex)
Dangerous (good for doing it while in a moving car)
I feel you

and

Everything Counts (really more of a second base song- chorus goes "The grabbing hands, grab all they can, Everything Counts in large amounts")

Then you have the specialty songs:

S & M: Master and Servant
Pedophiles: Little 15
Sex-a-holics: Just can't get enough (how true)
Incest: Sister of Night (how yick)

There are tons of others, but they are a very good band for amourous pursuits.

PortisheadAmen. Portishead is the ultimate in mood music. Moon Safari by Air is in the same ballpark.

If you want fun happy euphoric sex, try the Avalanches or Dimitri From Paris.

Journey "Escape" and "Frontiers" always got me laid but that was from women in that era.I tried that on an alterna-chick last year and that went nowhere.

I hate that song. If some guy played that awful song to try to get me to bed, it would make me go home and read a book or something. Blech.

All females love that song.

You do not love that song.

therefore you are not female (you only think you are). ;)

Yeah, I think anything from Air, save the last album (10,000 Mhz?) would do.

Two austin bands, Bedhead and Windsor For the Derby have been preferred sex music for past & current girlfriends.

Personally, I'm going to have to vote against the Automator's "Lovage: Music to Make Love to Your Old Lady to" since I don't want any part of Mike Patton in my consciousness while I'm having sex.

Feel free to disagree since this band seems to be hated by everyone who knows them except myself. But you can't beat anything from Ozric Tentacles for good sex music.

Agree with you about 10,000 Hz though.

Has anyone mentioned Buena Vista Social Club or its offshoot Ibrahim Ferrer? The music is dead sexy though the cover of Ferrer's album is decidedly unsexy.

I always thought it would be really funny to make a sex CD, and have it playing when you're getting it on, but then randomly throw in the middle of it Barney singing the romantic classic "I love you, you love me...." The look on the girls face when that played would be priceless. It might throw her out of the mood, and she might kick you out, but that would be a memory to last a lifetime.:D

Massive Attack-Mezzanine is probably my all time favorite sex CD. Runners up would have to be Verve-Storm in Heaven, Jeff Buckley's Grace (for those sensitive times, Serge Gainsbourg, Depeche Mode (way to break it down Jamison) & My Bloody Valentine.

For those of you listing one song-I damn well hope you last longer than that one song otherwise it would just be disappointing for everyone involved.
