So with the new season a couple months away, the new youth program has my interest. Take this hypothetical scenario, you pull this player:
Henrik Larsson
TSI = 20 , 15 years, poor form
Has disastrous experience and wretched leadership abilities
Stamina: disastrous Keeper: disastrous
Playmaking: poor Passing: poor
Winger: disastrous Defending: disastrous
Scoring: weak Set pieces: disastrous
... is this a good youth pull in the new system? By the time he's 17 and ready for the friendly squad he'll concivably be a solid 17 yr scorer for your team if your a forward trainer. Is this the way its going to work?
Opinions?

I'm not sure you're gonna be able to see the guys stats. I think you'll have to play them in different positions to see if they improve, but I'm not sure.

That's what I thought, i think I will go the first season with the old YS and see how other people like the new system.

to be honest, you put a player called Henrik Larsson he would sell for a couple 100k anyway

I'll go with the new system since I don't invest now anyways.
My best guess is that you'll only see the players skill based on star ratings (or something new but similar) they get in different positions. Any you'll just have to see where they get the best ratings to get an idea of their skills.

That's my understanding of the new system as well, you'll have to move them around to see where they are best at.

I think one of the biggest things to consider here for me is the formation of our own series. I dont know about anyone else, but my confence in V was dead as a door nail.
Thing is, I really get into this game. I research players, transactions, stats, everything. I used to post predicitons, cup results for our teams, even post injury reports and new transfer pickups as press releases in our conference. I got up to about a dozen items in the confence without a reply before I deleted them, no one was interested. For the 2 years I spent in V, I knew just as much about the teams, history and players there as I would of any real professional sports league.
Getting decent young players would be icing on the cake, what I really want out of this is an active conference with good, intellegent managers to build rivalries with.

when this plan first came out, there was some talk of a BS youth/reserve league..I'm sure we can pull it off. My conf is dead again and thats usually been the case season x season.

I'd do that, too. I've tried to get stuff started in my league ever since I've been Supporter, and I don't mind being cannon fodder for other teams.

I love that idea. I'm down for it.

I went from a very active Div VI to another really good Div V - back into a crappy ass Div VI where I was soon the only active team - then into a dead Div V. I know what you mean - so much better when teams are active and involved.
I am definitely up for kicking your asses with my massive youth team.

Maybe we should start a sign up to see how much interest there is, were probably going to only get to put 8 in a division as per regular matches. If we get 2 series maybe we could use the week 15 friendly for a final between the 2 series winners or something.

BS youth team league sounds good to me. If I recall correctly the announcement said that you would be able to change your leagues and still have friendlies. We'll have to wait to see how frequent this is but if we have more than 1 BS league we could do a prom/releg. and of course a BS youth cup.

Consider this a formal declaration of intent... :)
