Never want to see 4-5-1 again!

I don't want to be disrespectful, but SAF would be daft to place Rooney out there. He may be showing how much he respects Rooney by placing his talent out of position, but it is just stupid. Either don't use the 4-5-1, which would be the optimal decision as the formation is garbage, or play it without Rooney.

MOM - Rooney. Giggs was up there but Rooney won this match for us, simple as that.

It was Giggs right up until the second goal from Rooney, which turned out to be the winner. So it's Rooney, followed closely by Giggs.
And that's one of the rare games where I don't have complaints about any players - everyone performed very very well.
That's what good old 4-4-2 does for you.

agreed. Rooney for me simply because prior to his entrance, we just couldn't get that desired goal. With Rooney we got two, one of them to give us enough confidence to finish the game with fire, and the other simply for it's audacity and brilliance.

Giggs was fantastic though, his workrate along with some phenomenal footwork was enough to to constantly push us, on a day where Scholes and Larsson were rather quiet and Ronaldo was absent.

For me, Rooney's goals were vital - but Giggs was my MOTM. I don't know, I'm incredibly moved by Rooney's 2nd goal but I just don't see us winning without Giggs. We could with fair reffing, have been up 2 nil before Rooney came on.

It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, 2Pac and Biggie

er... I mean, it goes Ryan, Wazza, Poof and M-16

Ryan closely followed by Rooney and then Evra and Carrick a bit lower.

Andre from Outkast, Jada, Korupt, Nas and then me...

It was Rooney for me. Glad that Ronaldo was able to get a rest and we didn't suffer result-wise or for the most part, in terms of our play.

Hard one to mark, really.

If not for Rooney, we don't win today. For all our efforts and play before he come on we weren't getting any purchase out of Sol and he was my MoM - not one of our lot.

So, I'm going to have take Rooney.

Rooney. Everyone else was shit and our bad play made the opposition look good. We had a team full of Parks today. Decent play at times but zero end product. Disappointing.

Can't get away from the fact that Rooney changed and won the game but I wouldn't argue too much with those who go with Giggs.

Rooney, you can't argue with 2 goals one of which is highlights film stuff. Giggs is runner-up. I thought he played his best game of the past month. Good passing and few dribbling runs that brought back many good memories.
Park.. was next. Good on ball, good passing, and was a real pest defensively. Now if only he could shoot.

No doubt, Sol had a heck of a game. I would have liked to seen Saha up against him.

It was hard for me to go against Giggsy. This is the best game he's played in a minute for United, I even saw shades of Villa Park 99 in a couple of his runs. He was really on point yesterday. But, Rooney simply won the game for us, so it's hard to argue against that.
