Hopefully he'll get three on Saturday to celebrate:

From the official site

Michael Owen is celebrating tonight after girlfriend Louise Bonsall gave birth to the couple's first daughter.

The couple have named the baby Gemma Rose Owen.

She weighed in at a healthy 6lb 8oz after she was born at Chester's Countess of Chester hospital and both mother and baby are said to be doing well.

Owen, who broke off from training this morning to rush to the hospital, said: "This is the most amazing moment of my life. I think I was more nervous than Louise. We are very proud parents and looking forward to spending time together as a family."

Louise, who is expected to leave hospital in the next few days, added: "This is the happiest day of my life. I am tired but delighted. Gemma is absolutely gorgeous."

Also we know they are not following the Feckham's naming convention or she'd be likely called Chester.

What are the odds that the baby will grow up to dive against Argentina in the WWC?

"Michael Owen and girlfriend Louise Bonsall are celebrating the birth of baby Gemma Rose tonight - and we are giving you the chance to congratulate the happy couple.

We have set up a thread in our online message boards where you can post your congratulations to Michael and Louise following the birth of their first daughter at the Countess of Chester hospital earlier today.

We will then print out all of your messages and hand them to Michael at Melwood next week"

Roses are RED . . .

Slightly less than the odds that someone in the football press will discover that the name "Gemma" is italian for "Precious stone"--and then use that as conclusive evidence that Owen will be leaving for Serie A this summer.

This is currently the funniest line on Big Soccer, according to Stig.

Thanks but I can't claim total credit. I nicked it that from the news that, when Brooklyn Beckham was born, bookies were offering odds (10,000-1, I think) that the kid would eventually be sent off against Argentina.

Okay, maybe that was Posh Spice, but the important thing is, she could have been house shopping.
