All teams have history.

Richest is a subjective term.

Your friend is a moron.

Goodnight.

Biggest history Man Utd have is probably that they've had the most aggressive and confrontational players over the past 10 years.

Ask your friend who held the world record transfer fee all through the 1990s (when United was most successful). Then ask him how much van Nistelrooy, Ferdinand, Veron, Carrick and Rooney cost. Then stop being his friend.

MAN Utd
also known as
Manure
also known as the
Mancaneers
are generally supported by spineless wankers
Manchester City (Citeh) are the team supported by Mancunians
Manure are supported by Korean fan-boys and basement dwelling people in Norfolk, Dublin, and Devon, etc - that is towns/cities/places without a local football team

Record attendance at Old Trafford for a Man United home game was 70,504.

Record Attendance at a <st1:city w:st="on">Newcastle</st1:city> home game was 68,386 and that was probably due to the fact of the traveling fans as the game was against Chelsea FC

Record attendance for a Liverpool game was 61,905

Record attendance for an Arsenal game was 73,295

Record attendance for a <st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Chelsea FC</st1></st1:city> game 82,905

GLAZERS OUT!!!! :D

Chelsea FC has always been the best loved team in ENGLAND

...along with the long line of trophies and some of the best players the country has ever seen.

Bottom line for the Futballer3895: Manchester United are the most profitable club in the world (but the most in-debt since Malcolm Glazer bought us) whereas Chelsea are the richest but also running at (last I heard) the biggest losses. This is not an attack on Chelsea, it simply is what it is.

Chelsea have always been the most loved English football club
Royal Borough
Most loved team by the military [as opposed to most loved team by arab terrorists, e.g. Bin Laden & Arsenal]
England Away! Chelsea fans are the most likely fans to support England, etc

Is this thread a wind up?

I dislike them intensely but Man Utd are the most supported team in England consistently having the hightest average attendences. Chelsea have a respectable average attendence but they probably have never had a higher annual average attendance than Man Utd.

Man Utd have the record for the highest league attendence in England - 83,260. This was at Maine Rd when Man Utd played there after WW2 as Old Trafford had been damaged in the war. The game was against Arsenal in 1948.

Both clubs are very old, like most English clubs and have been supported by many generations of fans. If the Original Poster is interested in learning about English football clubs there are numerous books or online resources that can be used for research.

According to many stats sites (eg soccerbase.com), Chelsea's record for attendance was 82905: vs Arsenal 12/10/1935 Division 1. Not much big of a difference to Man U. A few hundred, maybe just over a 1000 more shows nothing in terms of amount of fans.

But before you jump on me, I'm not trying to say they don't have the most fans, they do.

Chelsea FC has always been the best loved team in ENGLAND

But they only came to see The Arsenal!!!

From the official Chelsea Website: "It was little wonder this London derby proved such a draw. Arsenal had built London's first great side - winning four out of five championships in the early 30s."

:D

But enough about 1935

Wednesday, 31st January

Blackburn (H)

Tickets are on General Sale (http://www.chelseafc.com/xxchelsea180706/index.html#/page/TicketNews) (maximum 4 tickets per person)

so why were the attendances at Arsenal lower? ;)

13/11/45 <st1:city w:st="on"><st1>Chelsea FC</st1></st1:city> 3, Dynamo 3. <st1>Stamford</st1><st1> Bridge</st1>, att. 85,000 - Highest ever attendance in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1>England</st1></st1:country-region> club ground, although it was lot more than 85,000, they just stopped counting ...in the 120,000 range...
