put your spare CPU power to good use, by helping hundreds of thousands of people 'fold proteins' in an effort to cure some of the worst diseases known to man.

download the tiny application HERE (http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html). upon installation, enter a username and the number 53709 for Team ID (which will make your efforts part of the SoB Team (http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=53709)).

it's pretty much set-it-and-forget-it, as the application runs in the background using only CPU power not in use. there should not be any decrease in productivity, as the F@H application works most when your computer is 'idle'.

oh, and FYI, it's not a scam, it's not spyware/malware ... it's a way for the average citizen to have a part in helping stanford university.

check out some Articles in the Press (http://folding.stanford.edu/press.html), and the Wikipedia Page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding@home) for further clarification.

Ooh, I'm on this like something that's frequently on something else.

I waste enough protein, may as well bend some.

I was on it for a while, but it drains the crap out of my laptop battery. I will make a point to do it while I'm plugged in.

Some of us actually use the computers we have it running on. Plus, it only runs when the system is idle which tell me you're really using that $600 gaming system a great deal!!!

Do you just leave that thing on??

Yeah, you can't run folding@home and play a game at the same time, so I just leave it on when not playing something.

Well I guess we can nominate Bolton as a Load tester for the PS3 to see if it over heats and bricks like xbox360
