Name your top 5 greatest sports moments.
1. Red Sox win 2004 World Series
2. Pats win Super Bowl XXXVI
3. Bruins beating Montreal in 1988
4. Revs beating DC in 06 ECF
5. Tie
Pats getting to the first Super Bowl in 85, beating Miami 1/12/86 in Miami. I was only 9 but I remember that game. In fact I think I wore out the VHS tape my dad had of the game. I think I watched it at least 1000 times.
US beating Mexico in 2002 WC 2-nil

Oh cool, the opposite side! :)
#5. UML ranked #3 in the country has to play at #1 BU and then host the Terriers the next night. They go into BU and win for the first time ever at BU, and then a sold out Tully Forum (we broke every code in the book that night for how many people should have been in there) saw the sweep completed. I'll never forget the feeling of about 150 of us at BU as the entire team came to celebrate in front of us. And the next night ... what a great evening.
#4a and #4b (hey I'm allowed). Coming back to beat NY and Chicago being down 2 goals each time in the playoffs.
#3. Being there in person to see the Pats win the Super Bowl in Houston after seeing them beat Goober and the Dolts. That "Cut that meat" chant with 68k doing it was phenomenal.
#2. Even though it was a loss, being in DC to see the 3-3 ECF in 2004. There were only 13 Revs fans there, but I don't think any of us will forget that game. The fact that it was a loss, but still is that high should tell you how special that was to me.
#1c. 71 seconds.
#1b. Being able to see my Patriots win their first ever Super Bowl. And having the chance to experience it in New Orleans. Damn Bourbon Street was a tiny bit of fun that night ... :D
#1a. Seeing the three following events in person. 2-0 in Columbus. 2-0 in Korea. 2-0 in Columbus. :D

Tough to consider if the entire sports world is involved. I'll go with the moments that make me smile the most:
1. Red Sox come back from 3-0 down to beat Yankees giving me an instant arguement winner against Yankees fans for life.
2. Red Sox win World Series.
3. Snow Bowl. Watched the end of it while being dragged up to the hangar bay for a breathalizer because someone was drinking underweigh, slipped while chasing a friend, and hit his head on a rack (bed) causing his eye to bust open. No kidding. I also won an all you can drink bet with a Raider fan who had alcohol found in his rack so he couldn't drink at the next port and I never cashed in. I had a Kool-Aid smile on my face all day even though we spent the next 13 hours cleaning up the reckage caused by every chief onboard demolishing our berthing searching for anymore booze.
4. Red Sox beat Angels in 1986 ALCS game 5. I'll always remember Henderson's skip.
5. Celtics beat Lakers in 1984. Bird calls his team a bunch of women after game three, does 600 laps around the Forum to get prepared for game four, and the rest is history.
The Revs would have one in there if they ever won anything.

5. Red Sox come back from 3-0 down in 2004 ALCS against Yankees. I'm not the world's biggest Sox fan, but I do like them well enough and I hate the Yankees as much as any proper New Englander should.
4. Taylor Coppenrath scores 43 with a broken hand against Maine in the America East Championship game. This is the best moment I've had in person by far.
3. 71 seconds
2. Kirk Gibson, Game 1 of the 1988 World Series against the A's (I'm actually a Dodgers fan. Long story.)
1. UVM 60, Syracuse 57

5. Pats beating the Raiders in the snow in 2001, was sick as hell and couldn't even shout for joy loud enough for my dad to hear me in the next room
4. UCONN men's basketball winning the national title in 2004...watched it on campus on the huge screens set up at Gampel Pavilion, went outside to celebrate and saw quite a site (people screaming after climbing up trees, cars flipped, couches on fire)
3. US beating Mexico 2-0, WCQ 2005...seeing it live made it that much better
2. Liverpool v AC Milan for the Champions League final, 2005
1. Pats beating the unstoppable Rams in the Super Bowl

1. USA 1-1 Italy. Despite the tie, and the goal being an own-goal, if McBride were onside by a yard the U.S. would have been leading 2-1 with 10 minutes to go, down a man, and the entire WC would have been different. Will go down as one of the finer moments in U.S. Soccer history.
2a. Red Sox coming back to beat the Yankees.
2b. Red Sox winning the World Series.
3. Penn State reclaiming glory and winning the 2006 Orange Bowl. One thing I truly regret is not making it to this game, which would have been my last as a student.
4. Ray Bourque, my favorite NHL player, finally winning the Stanley Cup the night of my Junior Prom.
5. USA 2-0 Mexico. Started off my senior year by knowing I was going to Germany, and help drive me through my senior year.

1. The Revs winning MLS Cup
2. The Astros winning the World Series
3. The Texans getting a winning season
Oh wait...none of these have happened yet?:( It sucks being a fan of a heart breaker in every sport
Some personal bests...
1975 World Series Game 6. Fisk!
Was there. Probably the most exciting "live" moment I've ever had. Father-son moment! No one wanted to leave.
1994 World Cup Italy v Nigeria in Foxboro
Cemented by new love for the sport of soccer. Was there, and the atmosphere was unsurpassed.
1976 NBA Finals C’s beat Suns 3 OT’s
So may Celtic moments in history to pick from, (v LA, v Bucks), unreal. Gar Heard, Glenn McDonald!
2000 Revs beat Fire, 2:1 – 1st playoff win ever
Maurico Wright scores with a few minutes to go. What? We won a playoff game?? What a night!
1972 NFC Championship Redskins 26-3 win over Dallas
Sorry, I was living in Maryland, and this rivalry was/and is huge. We win to go to SB. Billy Kilmer, Charley Tayor...beating Dallas - priceless!

I'm a young lad so bear with me :D
1) Red Sox beating Yanks, in such delirium
2) Red Sox beating Cards, even for an anti-climax, it was very fulfilling.
3) Germany defeating Poland, never had I seen a footy match with such tension.
4) Snow Bowl game, how everything seemed so surreal.
5) Everton 3-0 Redshite

OOOO, I just remembered one. This one can take place of number 5. I was at the Sox/Yankees game (even though I don't really like either) when they had the brawl a few years back. That was the greatest atmosphere I've EVER seen for any sport

There are so many, but I'll restrict this to games that happened during my life:
5) Game 3, 2002 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, Fleetcenter, Boston, MA
Celtics stage a 30 point comeback over the third and fourth quarters to defeat the Nets 94-90. I was there in person to witness it. To this date, the loudest I have ever seen the Fleetcenter/TD Banknorth Garden (and I practically live there)
4) Game 6, 1986 ALDS, Anaheim Stadium, Anaheim, CA
Sox beat the California(!) Angels in extra innings to stay alive and force a game 7. The Hendu game.
3B) 1980 Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Semifinal, Lake Placid, NY
We beat the Russians. Half the team was Boston guys. We did not win the gold in this game (that was against Finland), but the ramifications were immense. Rated my #3 only because I was 4 at the time.
3A) Game 4, 2004 World Series, Busch Stadium, St. Louis, MO
Icing on the cake.
2) Superbowl XXXVI, Superdome, New Orleans, LA
The first one is always the sweetest.
1) Game 7, 2004 ALCS, Yankee Stadium, The Bronx, New York, NY
This was the culmination of the greatest emotional roller coaster I've been on and it couldn't have worked out any better. Just like the US beating the Russians, but more personal.

4. Thanksgiving Day 2002 Hanover 14 - Norwell 6
(Ya, thats right I picked a High School Football Game)
3. "The Invincibles" Arsenal 26-0-12
2. Super Bowl XXXVI - Pete picked the Rams! Pete Picked the Rams!
1B. 2004 World Series - Most Anti-Climatic victory but it was still so sweet
1A. 2004 ALCS - If only for the way they won and the fact that it will never ever happen again.

1. My daughters first goal in U14 against Hudson only goal of the game, final game of our only undefeated season.(such a soccer mom)
2. 2005 Revs come back from 2 down to beat the metrostars.
3. 2006 Revs beat DC in the ECF
4. 2005 Revs beat Chicago in the ECF
