I doubt they'll underestimate them.

AZ has been a very good Uefa Cup team for the past 2-3 years now. They can score loads of goals but they can also concede them. As long as Bremen's defense stays disciplined and their offense clicks, they can get past them.

The way the draws went, I am positive Bremen can make it to the final. They'll probably play Benfica in the semis whom they can beat as well.

Yeah, but the barrier is AZ Alkmaar.

Make the first step before the second.

The Dutch have a team with good technic, good fighting spirit
and very fast offense. Really no easy task.

AZ is a better team then Ajax for sure.. They can play truly amazing football and kick ass every team. AZ is normally also good away. My team (PSV) played on of their best matches in the dutch league but they lost in the Philips Stadion from AZ with 3-2. Their weakest part of their team is their defence. Sometimes they play ok (like AZ-Newcastle) but often it's rubbish  .
AZ scores very easy.. They always have scored 2 goals or more in the Uefa Cup so far.. (except Kayserispor-AZ 1-1)
A AZ match in the Uefa Cup is always fantastic to watch!

AZ results in the Uefa Cup so far

Datum Thuis Uit Uitslag
1st roud

AZ Kayserispor (Tur) 3-2
Kayserispor (Tur) AZ 1-1

Groups

AZ Sporting Braga (Por) 3-0
Grasshoppers (Zwi) AZ 2-5
AZ Slovan Liberec (Tsj) 2-2
Sevilla (Spa) AZ 1-2

second round

Fenerbahce (Tur) AZ 3-3
AZ Fenerbahce (Tur) 2-2

last 18

Newcastle United (Eng) AZ 4-2
AZ Newcastle United (Eng) 2-0

Average goal: 2.5
Average goal against:1.7

So they score easy but their defence is rubbish ;)

i think MAYBE the only team that is weaker than AZthat's left is Osasuna... so i'm happy with AZ

I never thought I'd say this, but Klose is almost too unselfish.

Watching the Mainz game, and there have been numerous occasions in which Klose can simply slot the ball in the back of the net, yet chooses to pass. On another note, I think he's having a good game back.

But as long as someone green-white makes the goals it´s ok for me. ;)

2-0 Werder (Vranjes, Diego) :)

Congrats to Bremen.

Now a win in Cottbus ... and you'll take the lead.

I'm really rooting for you guys to take the title. Schalke has a lot of easy games left though. Bayern should hold them and I hope :o we do too at home.

LOL!!!....My father is German (Bremen born and raised) and my mother is from Ecuador, born and raised. When Germany played Ecuador last WC it was hard on me but I actually wanted Germany to win the whole thing so I rooted for them and just hoping for a good Ecuadorian performance. Actually went to the EC-Costa Rica game in Hamburg...AWESOME!!!!

Now that Baumann is getting older, who will take over for him at DM? Vranjes? Niemeyer? Andreasen?

I reckon Baumann will still be good for another year at least. But Andreasen might replace him next year, he might be that good. Vranjes is nothing more than a decent squad player, as is Jensen IMHO. But they are very good squad players that Werder could ill afford to lose atm.

btw, how is Sebastian Schnaten (sp?) coming along, I hear he's a similar player along the mold of Baumann.

Andreasen still has a loan option with Mainz if they don't relegate.. Frings is more likely i think..

and do you mean Sebastian Schachten?

The Andreasen info is not 100% correct,
Mainz has an option, if they don´t get relegated,
to extend the loaning deal for a further season, yes,
but the contract also says,
that Leon must agree to this, too.

To Schachten:
He played this season very often as a defender for the reserve,
but i can´t give you more infos. Don´t know him.

Choreos are now VERBOTEN! on the Ostkurve (translation?) because the VIPs couldn't see for 5 minutes at the Hamburg match.

OMG!
