the only serious one looks to be Klose, i remember hearing them WANTING Frings, but he has already said that he is staying until he goes to Aachen for retirement

Don't listen to those Juve rumors, they're being linked with anyone these days.

What was it, something like Naldo, Mertesacker, Frings, Diego and Klose for Kovac, Bojinov and 25 million.

:D

And I thought United were crazy to spend 18 mio for Carrick when they could have gotten Frings, who is 3 times the player he is for probably the same amount. :D

Bremen, Sevilla, Benfica, and tottenham are the best teams left.

Newcastle are dangerous as well.

From those teams its obvious Bremen and Sevilla are the favourites for the final.

Just got a question.

How do you all rate Hugo Almeida and what are strengths does he appear to have in your eyes?

I know hes been scoring some goals lately but id love for ppl who have actually seen him the whole season to give valuable input.

The nation of portugal rides on it!:D

deffinately has potential, a little on the inconsistant side, but that will come with experience. Portugal has a solid striker on the rise in Hugo Almeida....

I think Newcastle are better than Tottenham personally, but the absense of Owen is leaving them with some problems. But Martins is probably the most underrated striker in the Premiership. Every time i watch, im dazzling by his tenacity

Like Bremen were going to sell or Frings was just going to up and go.....

I don't know about the first part, but I do know that they already have his replacement in Leon Andreasen, who's guiding Mainz to safety as we speak.

EXACTLY!!!

But I don't think Frings will be leaving. Unless he's truly as big of a hypocrite as I believed him to be.......

I probably worded it wrong, but I think if United tabled that sort of bid for Frings, I think Werder could accept it. But we are talking just in hypotheticals now...

We disagree there. And my reasons are:

1) Werder is not hurting for money.

2) As "Brandon313" stated, Frings intends to stay in Bremen until he goes to Alemania to retire. I don't think he ever intends to leave Germany for that matter. He's never had the desire to go abroad.

3) If he did, he would have when he left BVB.

As far as I remember, we had offers from a couple of big clubs abroad, but Frings would only accept a transfer to Bayern because he wants to raise his family in Germany. That and he was trying to finally "win" a title.

Sir Alex bought Carrick for the price he did because that's the going rate for a player of Carrick's level there. I gasped when I saw the price too, but then I realized that I cannot compare that price to what you would pay for a player of Carrick's talent in the Bundesliga.

There's a hell of a lot more money in the Premier League, making their players/talents more expensive.

But I don't have to tell you that.

And I also think we all know that just because those players are "more expensive", it does not make them "better......"

Nope, I'm German and I'm happy about any young German player scoring three times in one match.

;):D

VERY good to see Werder back in form, and GREAT job to mr Aaron Hunt!!

we move past Stuttgart into second thanks to Leverkusen's win....Lets take back the top seed!!

yeah it's good, now hunt might get a callup for germany?

seeing as borowksi won't be in the czech squad, hunt might be called up as cover for the midfield slot and the striking slot.

They looked "good", but they didn't look "in form" to me.

And don't forget, they were playing a team that in all likelihood will be in the 2. Liga next season.

Beat Bayern next week first, then talk about that. One thing at a time man.

Scheisse has another tough match in Hannover next week. And we fully intend to help you guys by beating them on May 12th, the penultimate match of the season.

I heard the bremen fans gave the team a standing ovation at half time

So the performance must have been something special I assume?

Maybe they were happy just be winning again.......

true, but I thought a standing ovation may have implied an outstanding performance too

but yeah, maybe you're right and bremen fans do have low standards currently :)

And don't forget. They were playing Bochum, a team they swept off the pitch 6-0 the last time they played them.

And, I did say Werder were GOOD. I have just seen them better too. That is why I said I would not say they were "in form".

But, next Sunday's match will give us that answer better than this one did.

And no, I didn't expect another 6-0. It's just that I've seen Werder in better form.

Apparently the Vigo-Bremen match won't be shown on German tv because the Spaniards want up to 1.000.000 Euros for the rights.

It's a shame.
At least Eurosport is showing Lens - Leverkusen.
