I think he wanted to show that they also take the UEFA Cup seriously and see themselves as champions or so. Quite stupid if you ask me :-)

He was so mad, I'm sure his teammates made sure to not go near him for quite a while.

Everything else was dirty?

Yeah. ;)

But his performance was really world-class,
while the rest of the team showed the worst performance
since years, they invited Ajax to score.

Remind me of HSV in autumn, with such bad performances
the team will reach nothing. :(

Hope the crisis end quickly.

I just hope we get out of this current funk and get our shit together...our defense was horrible, and without the stunning performance of mr. Tim Wiese, we would have had a 5-0 or more beat down, losing our spot against Celta Vigo....Lets get it done against Monchengladbach!!!

What a blown chance!!! What happened?? Schalke loses and you guys only manage a tie? I was unable to see the game so any input would be great. I am really rooting for Bremen this season, even though there has always been a soft spot for them (my father is from Bremen and huge supporter) but also as a Dortmund supporter; Schalke cannot and must not take the title. Good luck in games to come!

I don't know if this is Bremen's poor Buli form as of late or just Gladbach in desperation mode trying to stay alive.

Either way, it's going to make the next couple of matchdays a hell of a lot more interesting.

Cris, this was simple.

Bremen had the lead, relaxed in injury time and gave up a last second goal.

No excuse for it and I respect Schaaf for not making any after the match.

Bremen really missing Baumann or what? Even earlier this season, when they were winning, I thought something is missing a key ingredient of stability. Daniel Jensen is not controlling the tempo as well as Baumann and the new fullbacks particularly Wome look very insecure in the back.
I hope they can get it sorted out, it's about time another German team wins the Uefa cup again. Only teams on par with Bremen in the Uefa cup are Benfica, Tottenham and Sevilla, the rest Bremen should beat.

I'd say bremen are definitely better than tottenham and benfica

I never thought of it that way. Maybe because even when he was with FCN, I always thought Frank Baumann was an overrated wuss!

I actually think Bremen's defense is a bit more "stressed" because their offense isn't controlling match tempo as they did in the first part of the season.

Seeing "squidward's" reply, I'd say I'm partially with both of you. Yes, Benfica and Tottenham are teams who can beat Bremen on any given day, but on paper Bremen are better.

I'd venture to say Bremen and Sevilla are the two best team "on paper" left in the tourney.

But of course, we know being better "on paper" doesn't mean jack shit in this sport.

Especially in a tournament.

do you really put tottenham on the same level as bremen or sevilla footyfan?

i think benfica yeah you could say are close but not tottenham.

i'd say bremen and sevilla would beat them 7-8 times out of 10.

No, but they can beat either one on any given day.

And I agree, but the UEFA Cup is not seven out of ten, it's a two-leg playoff and one final match.

Anything can happen in those.....

Or do you actually believe the best team in every tournament wins every time??? :o

One thing's for sure, Bremen have to get out of their slump, otherwise they wouldn't beat any team.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Newcastle. They're the best English team left in the competition for me. They know how to get their sh*t together against the big boys.

I'm not going to argue if Benfica are an inferior team or not, but they're the exact team that can take advantage of Bremen's great weakness- lack of wing defense. The way they usually line up their mid and attack is the team that will always give Bremen trouble. Whenever Wome plays against good opposition that attacks with pace especially, he gets completely overrun, I'd imagine Simao and Miccoli would have an absolute field day against him. They also have a pretty amazing defense, and considering Klose's lack of form now, I'd actually give Benfica the upperhand. Benfica are also in form in their league right now, the same can't be said of Bremen.

AZ will eliminate them, mark my words

Newcastle are too inconsistent for me.

The only thing they ever do with consistency is show why they can't win trophies......

Oguchi Onyewu is their best defender.

That says it all really. Butwe're going incredibly OT now....
