Was that story on the news, or where did you get it from?
I recall Ballack saying something like that in an interview on German TV. Maybe Hendrik saw that, too.

If I recall properly, Lampard said it in a recent "SportBild" interview.

I don't read the SB so it seems like we have corrsponding statements from both of them.

I only read it every now and then. I used to buy it weekly. But it was either last week or a few weeks ago. I may still have the issue at home.
Lampard says their ladies really get along too and he referred to Ballack as "Bally".

Did anyone watch Valencia-Chelsea last night? Ballack must have been superb, since even some Chelsea supporters acknowledge that he was decent...

yup, mick black was very good today.
if it wasnt for a great save, then he could have won a tie for the 2nd time in a row for chelsea as well.

This is a great thread. Good to see so much support for Ballack in here...
Does anybody know how I can get the url of the youtube interview of Jose responding to ballack criticism a few pages back? I need to share that video with some others! :D

Yes I agree, a great thread indeed. Ballack is still my main reason for watching Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge, with Sheva a close second. They play great football together. Haven't been on here for a while but want you all to know that I saw Ballack's two goals against Porto and Sheffield United live and they were fabulous.
I really like Jose too and his defence of Ballack was brilliant, I saw it live on TV after the Wycombe away game. I couldn't agree more with Jose, I think the stick Ballack could well be because he is German. One English commentator during a more recent match remarked that Ballack seems to play better football for the national team than for Chelsea implying that it is a conscious thing on Ballack's part.
I'll leave that for others to debate but my own opinion is that Ballack has brought with him a good team spirit to Chelsea and the way he celebrates his and others' goals is awesome. Ballack you rock!!

Ballack resting himself at club level so that he could shine in the nt? No way. :D
I couldn't care less how Ballack performes for Chelsea as long as he performs for Germany.
He knew what he would get himself into when he signed for Chelsea. Don't feel any sympathy for him.

Scored another vital winner for Chelsea today, putting them into the FA Cup final.
He seems to get better with every game and has adapted very well under those restricted conditions.

That's him saving Chelsea twice in two major competitions. Should shut some critics and chelsea fans up alright!

Should but doesn't.

well, some chelsea fans on bbc606 reckon lampard's set piece duties should be taken away and given to maybe ballack..so ballack could get more and more prominence in the team.
where are these fans you speak of forevered?

A lot of them are on BS to be fair and the couple I meet out here.
That doesn't mean they're all like that. I can only speak of those I encounter and in that regards its not very positive.

I don't go to the chelsea boards on this site, but on bbc606 the general feeling earlier in the season amongst everyone was that he was bad, but now, more people reckon he's getting better and better and playing very well. So about 60% of people (not just chelsea fans) reckon he's doing very well now.
They should let him take free kicks and penalties now

They should but it won't happen.
Drogba and Lampard will still hold priority over him in those areas.
