We'll find out on Friday. Generally it's regarded better for the smaller football nations if Platini were to get elected, but seeing that Platini is Blatter's choice, I'm more inclined to go with Johansson as Blatter is a corrupt bastard.

Johansson has done quite a bit for UEFA since taking over all those years ago.
Platini as has been said is closely linked to Blatter, though apparently Blatter persuaded Johansson to stand.
If there is a criticism of Johansson it is that he has not protected the interests of UEFA in FIFA, allowing us to lose our proportion of slots at the World Cup and the de facto right to host every other WC. In addition he has allowed the big clubs to massively increase their power, and he seems timid to act against the G14.
Platini seems to have a great deal of ideas in the same way that Blatter does. He might well change things which are perfectly fine at the moment though. Like the way he changed the way the groups are structured at the WC.
Personally I would favour the continuity of Johansson, but I would not be surprised to see Platini win.

but seeing that Platini is Blatter's choice
That alone should be reason for Johansson winning.

If that's the main criterion, why not make Maradona the chairman?

I'd like Johansson to win. Platini's been throwing out all kind of silly ideas since he started this campaign. Sure his tune on some of them has changed after people laughed at some of his early ideas and as the run-in to the election made him back off the more extreme notions but I think he's really too much of a "big idea" guy without the proper traits to handle this job. No thanks. More of the same please...

A good reason that I've nicked of another meesage board for not voteing for Platini.
The fact that he's so far up Blatter's hole he can almost see Jack Warner's feet?

When I think about Platini I also can't help thinking back to the Heisel disaster. He knew people had died and that a disaster had taken place yet he didn't seem very bothered when they won, he was happy as a bunny. Not a sign of a compassionate person.

I hope Johansson wins, but his age is a concern.

That's also what alienates me when I think about Platini. I always see him converting that gift of a penalty, the way he celebrated that goal in exhilarating fashion when he knew exactly that the very stadium he was celebrating in had turnt into a mass grave just hours before really turns me off of his personality. This complete disrespect for the tragic events was one of the most classless acts ever in football history.

I was under the impression that the players didn't know about it until after the match.

They knew. A couple of years ago a bunch of journalists investigated the whole thing and made a documentary about it. Several players admitted to knowing about it. And if they knew, so did Platini.

This is a bad day for English football.
Why? It may be bad for one of the top 4 clubs but for the rest of us it is either neutral or positive news.....

Platini is Fench, just wait for the bias....it wont be funny at all. France doesnt have four CL places because they are crap, but nope lets reduce England, Spain and Italy then....
Oh great more teams in the CL form Sweden, Denmark, etc, no offensive to those countries put your football teams are boring...
He loves Blatter's, the evilest man in the history of football, he's in his pocket.
He wants tackling taken out of the game.
Wants 4 linesmen.
Wants more european international fixtures.
This is the end of football as we know it.
Clubs could very easily break from UEFA.
