Does anyone think that a change to the offsides rule such that a player who receives the ball in his opponents' end would only be offside if there was only one player between him and the goal but NOT offside if there were zero players. This would be good if a player beat the last defender, went around the goalkeeper, and then passed to a teammate who is behind all the other players who then scores. Do you think it would work. Do you think it is worth experimenting with? Let me hear from you! Write away!

99.9999999% of the situations I can think of if I'm reading your idea right would not be offsides anyways because the player receiving the pass would be even with or behind the ball anyways...

Exactly if you are behind or even with the ball even if there are no other defensive players present you are not offside.
