Ok... no offense here but what about some congratulation to Alexander Frei and Tinga?

When I said Frei will score (left & right) ...well it will happen next year:cool:

We will start counting the goals next season ok :D

More congratulations for Frei for me. Easily man of the match. Scored two and assisted on the third.

While he did miss a lot of sitters in the first half of the season, Frei showed us he could put the ball in the back of the net more than just "on occasion" too.

That's why we didn't ride him so hard.

I don't know so much about Tinga. He played well in midfield for sure, but I think on the goal, he just happened to be the guy to get his foot to the ball. I think had he not scored it, Metzelder would have. Metzelder was also right there and the Bayern defense just stood and watched.

I don't know what happened to Bayern in the second half. Honestly, at halftime, I didn't think we had a chance. Then, our midfield just f#cking took over the match.

And I think we'll be even better at the back with either Worns or Amedick back.

I also was even more convinced that we should keep Metzelder.

Injury: Smolarek tore a thigh muscle during the match. Initial prognosis has him missing three to four weeks.

Kicker Player Rankings Key (As close as I can get it anyhow):

1-World Class
2-International Class
3-Average
4-Slightly Below Average
5-Well Below Average
6-Needs To Be Shot

Weidenfeller: Was rated a 4,5. I'm puzzled by it. Unless they gave him more of the blame than the guy I totally blamed it on. Brzenska. Sure, Roman could have done a better job on that play, but he probably expected the same thing anyone seeing that play expected. Brzenska to hold off Makaay and clear the ball. Brzenska was in position to do it, but just did not. I would have rated Weidenfeller a 3,5.

Degen: Was rated a 3. Was the first player on Makaay before his goal, but Degen would have had to bring Makaay down to prevent the play. Brzenska was in perfect position and let Makaay school him. I think this Degen rating is just about right.

Brzenska: Was rated a 5. I think he got that because he settled down in the second half. However, as far as I am concerned, he was responsible for BOTH Bayern goals and gave them another free kick in a dangerous position in that first half too. I would have given him a 5,5 or a 6 just because that first half was so f#cking horrible. As stated in another message, I really never want to see him on the pitch again. I'd rather put up with rookie mistakes from Huenemeier than put up with Brzenska's bullshit.....

Metzelder: Was rated a 3. I thought he had a pretty decent match, but with those two bad goals I attributed to Brzenska, I guess a "3" is in order.

Dede: Was rated a 2. For the first time this season, he looked like the old Dede to me. Was dangerous and did well on the defensive end. Loved to see him back again. I agree with the 2.

Kruska: Was rated a 2.5. Very strong performance from the kid. He, Tinga and Kringe OWNED the Bayern midfield in the second half. Agree with the rating.

Tinga: Was rated a 2. I think he would have been a 2.5 also, but got bumped up for scoring the winning goal. Was also a monster in midfield. Agree with the rating. Also named to kicker's "Team of the Week."

Pienaar: Was rated a 2.5. I fully agree. Might have been his best performance in a BVB uniform. I think it's only a matter of time before this guy scores some goals too. Keeping him might have been a good move management was forced to make by lack of offers, but right now, it looks good.

Smolarek: Was rated a 5. I don't know how fair that is. We don't know how long he played injured. We know they probably didn't want to risk Valdez since he's not fully fit either. I'm willing to bet Ebi played most of the first half with that injury. I can't agree with that 5 if the guy was playing injured. I just can't.

Frei: Was rated a 1. Involved in all three goals and also not only named to kicker's "Team of the Week", but also named kicker's "Player of the Week". Best performance in the BVB shirt so far this season. Totally agree with the 1!

Valdez: Was rated a 4. Came in for Smolarek at halftime. You can see he isn't fully fit. However, if he starts this coming Wednesday, for me that will not be an excuse. I agree with the 4. This SOB had better start coming through.......

Sahin came in for Frei in the 73rd minute. I was impressed with Nuri's poise. He actually had us in position to create more chances too. Amedick came into the match in the 86th minute for Pienaar, helping to secure the victory.

Here's a nice tidbit for KUBI_nu11:

The two goal game was Frei's first in the Bundesliga. The first Swiss player to score two in a Bundesliga match was 1. FC Nuernberg's Anton Allemann on 10 October 1964 against KSC. There have been a total of 35 two-goal games from Swiss players in Bundesliga history. The individual record is 18 and "of course" held by former BVB striker Stephane Chapuisat. :D

Nice. Thanks for that :D

Hopefully, Frei will score many more goals than "Chappi" for Dortmund. That would make us all really happy:)

i know this is sort of late...but congrats on your victory BVB...i watched the entire match on GolTV and it was pretty entertaining football for the full 90 minutes...although a bit sloppy at times from both sides, but ill just say all of it was due to the weather ;)

What a game ... honestly I forgot the BL Start and got informed by a guy ... we lead 3:2 ,,, I thought he made a joke of me ... and I could only check kicker as my TV is not working atm..... Gladly my flatmate took a copy of the game and we saw it together on monday ... I figure Weides 4,5 is due to 3 or more mistakes he made ... don't know
