"Beckham would have never reached this massive popularity if he didn't join [Real Madrid], we both gained financially, it was the perfect media marrige [sic]."
You've got to be kidding me. Beckham was HUGE in England. If anything, his popularity plateaued at Madrid.

What the hell is an English style tackle?
Apparently any tackle where the defender regains possession
Unlike American-style tackles

I love how people think they're the authority on the Rossi-nationality debate.
"I don't care if he's an American citizen, he's not American." What an idiot.

What's the problem with getting mentally ready for a PK? Not to mention he crossed himself so he could quite possibly have been praying. It just irritates me this guy has to find something to bitch about.

Well, it's one thing to kneel at the halfway line with your teammates. It's another thing to kneel at the penalty spot. I personally don't know which Donovan did.

I was there. He put the ball down and knelt just behind it for about 3 or 4 seconds while the goalie began to walk back to his line. He then crossed himself and scored. It's not like he was all ready for the kick and then all of a sudden knelt down.

Weird, never seen anyone do that. Don't see the harm in it though.

"This is one benefit of a salary cap, it reigns in the 'rogue' chairmen who stupidly overpay because they can. I.e. Freddy Shepherd, Roman Abramovich."

I only wish we had a chairman that could bring us silverware like Roman. Although if we did, I would feel like the cheapest ho in the bar.
