Understand that this is not the list of players for the USA game-- this is the call-ups for the minicamp next week. Hugo stated that he won't call any players whose teams have international fixtures, hence, no america players here.
I am guessing Hugo will take a little flack by calling his ex-players. I won't portest (not because I support UNAM) because he needs players that are familiar with his system to help that guys that aren't. I am a little surprised that Cacho wasn't called, though.

i was a little surprised to see castillo wasnt on there but i realized that it's really just a reason to glorify unam players.

I was afraid of Hugo doing this. He calls his friends and the players who don't deserve it but get it anyways because of their names and how they were good once.
I also found it funny, when they asked him if he would only call Pumas players, he said he was calling players from Necaxa, who just won the interliga. However, those he called were from Pumas (Beltran Galindo).

It could've been much better....Borgetti, I. Lopez, Beltran, Bernal:confused: ...wat the ******** is Hugo thinking...19 out of 26 players were in Lavolpe's process and the rest are some of Hugo's friends....the only interesting call ups I see are Magallon, Pinto, Esquivel, and Correa...lets hope he gives a better list for the game againts the US

Before I make any comments, this is the list just for the minicamp then right??

Would that mean that the Euro based players are still going to be called for the match?

Bernal, Munoz, Huiqui, Beltran, Galindo, Borgetti, and I. Lopez shouldn't be there. I think it is cool for him to add Magallon, Esquivel, Correa because they deserve a chance. I think Cacho should've been called.

Well it's inevitable that a coach's initial squad will draw heavily from former players and players who were part of the previous national team cycle, just to have something to build on.

Bearing in mind that it's just a camp, and the necessary absence of the players in Europe, and the players from América, it seems like a fairly solid list to me. I'm fine with it anyway.

I would have like to see Juan Carlos Medina, Juan Carlos Cacho, and Antonio Naelson on the list.

I. Lopez and Gerardo Galindo should never play again with our NT.

Of course he gave favoritism towards his ex Unam players , but lets not get caught up into this whole discussion.I will however mention Bernal who is a good goalie, but give me a break being 4 goalkeepers in the list of . No wonder Hugo extended the list to 4 goalkeepers by his actions. This diminished the chance of calling Cacho, who truly needed to be on the list.

However let's remember this is only a minicamp session and there should be some changes and players axed once the Euro and America players get called up during the Fifa dates. Gerardo Galindo and Lopez gets called , what have they done recently ? Give me a break . I have never been fond of those two with the NT

The only discontent I have is Hugo not calling Cacho , Sabah and Zinha who has achieved and performed well with the NT and his club. Landin is another story since he hasn't started games and is just recovering back to his norm of game. Our team struggles in the attack nothing new like history has been repeated always. Cacho and Sabah needed to be called up to this session to show themselves and see what he can do and got snubbed away .

The list seems reasonable with a few exceptions. Like I have always said no one will ever be 100% content with any decisions no matter what. Lets remember its only a mini camp many changes will occur in February when we play against the spazzo's.

Its good to see Magallon and Correa added to the list.. I was pretty surprised that Bernal, Beltran, Lopez were called and so was the Borg and Kikin since he has been riding the pine in Benfica the whole time. Sabah and Cacho deserved a chance instead of the last two. But since its just camp for their first game let it be.

Its not that bad considering Euro's and America players(sorry if everyone is saying this) are not available, although we have to remember that Hugo will release another list on Febuary 1rst in which Euro's and Americanistas will be available, and in all likely-hood they will be called. This list is only for mini-camp...this is not the Roster for the game vs USA, If hugo wants to make a statement(And you know he does) he will bring a good team with euro's. I Believe in Febuary he will put out a team that is at or near our Country's Maximum potential.

i think its a pretty decent list, lets just hope that if some of his 'friends' don't cut it in el tri he stops calling them up.

quick correction though, its jose luis lopez not israel lopez... thank gawd.

now for the players that shouldn't of been called up:

bernal
munoz
perez
borgetti

I think Cacho should've been called.

cacho isn't good enough for el tri.

I would have like to see Juan Carlos Medina, Juan Carlos Cacho, and Antonio Naelson on the list.

sinha? GET THE ******** OUTTA HERE!
