Going by their last two summers, the score should be 28-0.
How do you fall behind 5-0 in a champions league qualifier against a team from Romania?

The same way you lose to a team like Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup.

Celtic has looked a completely different team in the summer the last two years. Heck, Lee Martin scored twice on them in a friendly this year. I'm just stating a fact.
And I watched the SC match. I doubt you even knew about the celtic game I'm talking about.

for 1 they were slovakian, secondly it was strachans first competative game in charge and we missed a couple of sitters that would have seen us through, thirdly it was pre-season and they just werent approaching ready but still beat them 4 nil a week later and finally artmedia went on to do quite well in the CL, finished third in rangers group ahead of porto and were unlucky not to pip a truly terrible rangers side to second.
None of which excuse it as the worst result in the clubs history, worse even than Neuchâtel Xamax

Horrible choice for a team. Celtic is a big draw? Looks like Celtic really needs the $$...

they could play the all-star game in Ludlow..I'd still not go.
I think the all-star game has seen it's day...Celtic?? Next year they'll be playing Notre Dame..

Eh, yes, they are.
I'm sorry...and I know Scotland has an incredible legacy of teams and great passion for the sport from its fans. But, it's the same old broken record. A few teams and the rest of the lackeys. And I'm sure it still has a good following here in the states...But, after all the hype in the signing of Beck's...ya think they could have gotten Real Madrid!! LOL

I was thinking more along the lines of the organised supporters groups in the US, of which celtic has the most and whom often shell out ridiculous money and get up at ridiculous hours to watch celtic of a weekend who generally turn out in good numbers when celtic tour the states.
But still why would that matter when you could get the likes of fulham again.

Eh, yes, they are.
Much better than Fulham, less than the world's biggest clubs. They are good for 3-10k almost anywhere in the US depending on the frequency of their visits.
Among non-celtic fans, they are much less of a draw than the top epl teams.
This will sell out, but it probably won't be tough getting tickets a month out.
Following Chelsea was a good move on Celtic's part, btw.

I think the problem is that I don't believe most of us are trying to take shots at Celtic. Most of us just really don't like the idea of an All-Star game, no matter who it's being played against (ie, I hated the idea of an All-Star game against Chelsea as well).

same here...for one thing, you lose and the league is a joke, you win and "you had to assemble all stars". why the need for an allstar game is beyond me...
Celtic had a very bad summer tour here last summer (no wins), but yeah they had the supporters clubs come out for it. Midweek. At Gillette.

I agree with this. I'm not a big fan of the all star game.
Also, pointing out the fact that their mid-summer performance has been abysmal of late is just a fact. Granted, Nagamura should be with them this year as well as Gravesen and Vennegoor of Hesselink so they could be better this time.
The SPL usally starts sooner than most leagues, so they may be deeper into camp and their first team together for awhile, so who knows?

Because it's an American thing and MLS is an American league. The same with the draft.

Well yeah, but the "shootout" was also an American thing, and they finally smartened up and got rid of it.

I remember last years draft picks...I also remember them all getting cut at the end of the year
not too many people love the idea of the all star game...it is a waste of time and just like all other sports, it is meaningless and could cause injury...except of course the Pro Bowl where nobody tries at all because they are on vacation in Hawaii
