from Four-Four-Two:
1) Zinedine Zidane
2) Ronaldo
3) Paolo Maldini
4) Ronaldinho
5) Peter Schmeichel
6) Rivaldo
7) Ryan Giggs
8) Luis Figo
9) Thierry Henry
10) Andriy Shevchenko
All attacking players except Schmikes!
The order is somewhat messed, but it's nice to see two of ours in there!

Shoddy list at best, it's not like weshould expect a smart analysis from him, but it is satisfying to an extent to see two of ours.

Maldini?
I would like to know what he considers "last few years".

Maldini's a defender.
Surprised Roberto Carlos isn't in there.

Ronaldo? Rivaldo? Figo?
That's more like a top 10 from the late years of last century, 96-00 or so.

You know, Maldini is the type I oversight beings as he's the best LB ever, he just gets a free pass.
SirManc. Apart from Nedved's ommission I don't see your point.

Again, I may be missing the point here, but I would very much like to see what Ronaldinho considers to be "last few years". Like Stud said, it looks more like a list suited for the top ten in the mid to late 90's or so. Only four players on really deserve to be there if it's from the "last few years".

I think if you were to say best over the past ten years, the list kinda stands up.

I copied the header from the caf. I don't have the mag myself. Anyone here have it?

If we take the list as the past 10-15 years I think it stands up well. There are always going to be cases made for this player, and that player. It's always close to call.
Too bad more defenders aren't included.
I think the likes of Nesta, Puyol, Thuram etc....could be considered.

It's just interesting to see where a player rates other players...and apparently himself. The list probably only omits Ballack and Nedved from the attacking perspective...it's interesting that Ronaldinho is (i)modest enough to put himself in there and rate himself above Rivaldo in particular (for me) whom he hasn't reached the level of yet, imo.

Found another article about Ronaldinho's current (as of a year ago) dream team. Only Shevchenko and Maldini are in both lists. And it's clear Ronaldinho is a huge Chelsea fan
Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus), Petr Cech (Chelsea), Dida (AC Milan); Cafu (AC Milan), Paolo Maldini (AC Milan), John Terry (Chelsea); Kaka (AC Milan), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Claude Makelele (Chelsea); Didier Drogba (Chelsea), Eidur Gudjohnsen (Chelsea), Andriy Shevchenko (AC Milan).

That's probably because Barca played Chelsea so many times the past few years.
