What does everyone think West Ham has to do in order to stay in the Premiership? Mention signings (realistic ones/rumors), departures, and anything else worth mentioning that helps.

We need to grab some points quick to become more attractive to potential recruits while the window is still open.
Other than that, pray like maniacs!

I'm not much in touch with EPL, so could you please let me know what are the next matches to come and how many points are still required? Thanks.

I've wanted Mascherano played since he arrived, there must be something going on inside the club as to why he hasn't played under Pards or Curbs!!
I read somewhere that we were trying to save money as he is on some sort of pay per play deal.
Juventus wanted & Liverpool want him & he can't make the bench with us, it's just crazy!!

Ok, thanks. So that's about 15 games left. Still time to get back to business... Or is there a deadline before end of May?

I heard that he is not playing to keep his chances of moving to another club. But I guess if this doesn't happen, he will soon join the team, because he certainly is class...

A team with players who can control a ball with their first touch and run with the ball at their feet AND their head up would be a good start to keeping us in the Prem.
In all honesty we have a squad of Championship players and as such are in exactly the position we should expect to be in.
While we like to show loyalty to our players (Harewood, Zamora, etc) truth is none of them are really good enough (except a few) to move this club forward. We've a squad of mostly 'Jon Stead's'. A Player every other manager thinks he can get the best out of but see quickly after spending the dough that his potential is maxed out, and then moved on again.
So what we really need to stay in the Prem is about a dozen players better than what we have. That and winning 8 out of our last 15... Both highly unlikely outcomes me thinks (sadly).
The difference btwn this relegation fight and the last one was that in 2003 we had a team of no heart but genuine talent. Now we have a team with no heart and no talent. A deadly combo.
By the way, my prediction for the New Year (and beyond) is that none of the English players in the current West Ham squad (with the exception of Green, Noble and Ashton) will ever win a senior England cap. Especially the spectacularly over-rated NRC.
It's cold inside my cave, I'm going back to hibernation now. See you in the Spring.

Your right there Tony, ok, after much deliberation, my master plan to remain in the Prem is that we finish in 17th spot or higher, sorted!:p

We need Nirvaan to do his thing again this season - but for now, Claret's Master Plan sounds good :)

Another difference is we were bottom at Christmas the last time, something which at the time hadn't been achieved alongside PL survival.
Also I think there are more teams in this league that are relatively 'new' to the PL i.e. Sheff Utd, Watford, Wigan, Reading (despite their good season). Add to that Charlton's demise and we have every chance of surviving, not because we play well but because others play worse.
But even this will not happen without the wins happening round about now.
OK that's all the positives I can think of right now...

We need to pull the trigger on these games. Tevez needs to be fit and playing, and somone needs to replace the goals we once scored with harewood and ashton.

Somebody in midfield who knows what they're doing. Signing defenders and a beast of a centre forward (this Kepa dude is supposed to be a decent targetman) is all well and good but we need somebody in midfield that can pass it a bit. Quashie and Reo-Coker couldn't pass water.
