I watched his goals yesterday and got to thinking about his form lately. In this game he reminded us of what he is capable of and adding that to his recent comments about 'playing like drunks' I wonder if we are seeing the early signs of him staking a claim for captaincy.

He now leads by example in all areas of the pitch. In defence he is on the goal line, in midfield his is arguably our most creative player and in attack he chased everything against Fulham and consequently ended up scoring a strikers goal.

I know these goals have been a long time in coming and he hasn't always done well this season. Also to consider is the fact that he seems to like playing against Fulham, two chips scored in as many home games. But I think if, given the chance, he could make a good captain.

Although NRC may take his ball home in the huff...:)

I have no problems with this.

Always, always rated Yossi as a class act and a team leader.

To be honest, of all the trash we have heard about this past half season, I had the hardest time thinking any of it regarding Yossi was true.

Not a chance sunshine.
Yossi is a leader though. I'd be happy to see him given the captains armband

I'll be happy with that. The whole of England will get to see the future captain of my team show 'em how it's done, the West Ham way!!:D

Like I said he led by example in all areas of the pitch. I real leader wouldn't need more than one year to convince us. I think now is the right time.

I too never criticised Yossi even though he did have a few below par performances himself. The main thing is that I don't think he is part of the clique and is more concerned with our plight than playing silly little rich boys.

I know we talked about this the other night Chris but I feel Yossi is every inch the West Ham Player.

I totally agree he would make a good captain.

He has all that is required; ablity, application, skill AND a desire for the shirt.

He is peaved at not playing, eagre when he is and makes you hold your breath at times and cup your mouth in disbelief. (in a good way).

I believe he is good enough to undo any team, particularly England. What with him being acustomed to the EPL.

We should build the team around this genius.:D

Good call, he's certainly shown himself to have all the credentials to be captain lately, and while his own performance has been as low-par as others in the first half of the season, at least he's now looking to put that right and start battling for the team. Let's hope others (THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE!) follow his example.

Wow, I never would of thought Yossi would get this high of praise being here, It goes to show what amazing, wonderful, and smart west ham fans are. WHU has the best fans in the world, on this there is no doubt.

Regarding the player, ......he is a class act, the kid is brilliant.

on the captan's armband, I don't think he should be captan, not because he can't do it, some players can't captan while playing and others can, Yossi definently can, he's proven it captaning Israel. Although honored to hold a position that someone like Moore had here at WHU, the captan should be English. Don't you agree?

Funny how I'm Israeli and I think he shouldn't be captan and all the British think he should.

The ONLY thing I considered of what yaniv said was,,,, I hope the WHU fans don't dislike Yossi if he scores against England in march. is it possible?

For WHU fans it's not about where you're from but where your heart is, and I believe he is an honest and loyal person who would give his heart and soul to the club.

As for scoring against England... **shrug** good for him if he does (although it's no great accomplishment to score against England these days) ;)

Yeah, thanks for those pearls of wisdom. Somehow none of us had noticed Anton following NRC around in midfield like a lost dog, with a pretend captain's armband on. Doh!! Quick, someone phone Curbs and let him know!!
