I used to be into the Bruins before they became the Devils. You know, that very successful, hard-working team that would always dive infront of a slapshot and fight to defend their goalie. Somewhere around 1995, the team swap took place.
Ever since then, my interest has slowly faded. With the strike, new hockey, and my interest in soccer, I can't name a player on the team. I know they got that big dude from Ottawa and some young player had ball cancer. I turned off a Bruins-Rangers game I think last night.
It's sad that I don't follow them anymore, but I can't see myself getting back into hockey.

Our winter teams (Cs and Bs) both suck big time. It's truely awful watching them most of the time floundering around.

I enjoy watching both teams. I've only missed about 3 or 4 bruins games this year. They have been playing harder but there's something still missing. I still think that thing is Joe Thornton who they NEVER should have traded considering we could have gotten the same players if we sent Sergei Samsonov to San Jose instead. Plus, it's hockey. hockey is great. Zdeno Chara's a beast and Andy Alberts hits harder than anyone in the league.
Now, as for the Celtics. I love them dearly but they suck right now. Granted this season wasnt a championship season but with all the injuries we are SCREWED. I don't know how anyone couldn't enjoy watching Paul Pierce school anyone who's got 1-on-1 with him. Tony Allen was doing great until he tried to show off and Gerald Green is gonna be amazing. Big Al's got the hook. I just wish they would get rid of Kendrick Perkins.

I took two of my nephews to this game last week and had a perfect angle on that play....I laughed my ass off! IDK if they showed his teammates "carrying" him off the court into the locker room on tv but that was even funnier!!
They carried him like a log...one guy on his ankles and another around his neck...If his knee wasn't messed up before it certainly was by the time he got to the locker room!!
I had to keep saying to my nephews..."Larry Bird isn't walking through that door!" "Kevin McHale isn't walking through that door!" They had no idea what I was talking about but I laughed every time!!!:D :D :D

I was at the game too, sat in the opposite corner from where you were (in the $75 seats). Even from my angle, I knew it was a season-ending injury :(

I used to follow the B's, but like Chowda said, around 1995 management stopped caring. If I could pinpoint a specific move where I just kinda gave up my fervent support, it was when they traded Jason Allison...then Ray Bourque soon after. Management gave up.
Luckily, I discovered the Revs a few years later. I'll watch the Baby-B's down here in Providence, but I can't say I follow the B's as much as I did back in the day.
Who are the Celtics? :p

Well in the little GOOD news for the Celtics this season:
Celtics Dancer Courtney Named to First-Ever 2007 NBA All-Star Dance Team in Las Vegas
BOSTON (January 24, 2007) - The Boston Celtics announced today that Celtics Dancer Courtney was voted a member of the 2007 Las Vegas NBA All-Star Dance Team. One dancer from each of the NBA's 30 teams was voted onto the All-Star Dance Team by fans. NBA.com registered more than 6.5 million page views and over 760,000 votes for the selection of the first-ever NBA All-Star Dance Team.
Courtney currently attends Suffolk University and is majoring in communications and media. She is a member of the National Charity League and is passionate about her community outreach with many different charities.
This elite cast of America's top NBA dance professionals will perform as the 2007 Las Vegas NBA All-Star Dance Team during fan events in Las Vegas, the official host city of NBA All-Star 2007, including NBA All-Star Jam Ses.... enough with this stupid article.

The Bruins, and hockey for that matter, lost my interest during the lockout.
Celtics just lost my interest cause of Ange.

Never really followed the Celtics, and I lost an incredible amount of interest in hockey after the lockout. Even with the Hartford WolfPack, I've only been to two games in the past 2-3 years, the interest in that team in the area is virtually nonexistent.

As are the Sharks who have only had two sellouts this season. (A sell out is 7,300)

That is two more than the Wolf Pack have ever had, including the Calder Cup finals. The year after they won the Calder Cup they averaged about 8,000 a game, in 2000-2001, with several weekend games drawing 10,000-11,000. Now they are averaging below 5,000, and if they get 6,000 on a Saturday, then they are doing well.
MSG needs to sell the team to local ownership.

Actually if they can keep the team together, I love the young players the Celtics have. There's some really good talent there, and if they continue floundering and can pick up either Oden or Durant ... hell, I'd contemplate getting season tickets (and splitting them of course).

That's the big question.
It's official, the Celtics are the Barbaro of the NBA.

They need that lottery pick. Oden would be huge because there aren't a lot of real NBA centers out there. He has the potential to be great, especially on the defensive end. Durant looks like he could make them a playoff team, but the team isn't good enough to have a weak center and compete.

I was listening to a little WEEI today and they were talking about how the B's are now a bunch of wimps. That would have broken my heart if I didn't stop caring about them a few years ago.

Knowing the Cs luck since Bias ... this worries me.
BTW, Durant last night had (get this) 37 points and 23 rebounds. Wow. For a college player, getting 30 points is rare enough. 23 boards.
