I'm going to be around Ft. Lauderdale in a few weeks, and I need a place to watch the Manchester United - Everton match. The match is on Mother's Day (which is a Sunday) and the kick off is at 10:00am, I'm pretty sure.
A friend mentioned the Fox and Hound in Oakland Park. Is that a good spot? Do they have a website?
Anybody have some other suggestions that might be better?
Cheers!

Churchill's Hideaway is an "English Pub" in Miami that regularly shows Live Primiership games. It was the 2002 "Editorial winner" for best Live Music vemue by the local Citysearch.com.
I suggest you give them a buzz and see if they will be showing that game. Here's an info link http://miami.citysearch.com/profile/2502116/
Enjoy yourself down here and if you decide to check out Miami keep heading south right down US 1/Biscayne blvd. into downtown Miami, the Latin Quarter, (eastward)the beaches or soutwest into Coral Gables.
Begin Miami biased I think going to Ft. Lauderdale without cheching out Miami and the Beaches is like going to New Jersey and never checking out New York City.
Regardless Ft. Lauderdale is also beautiful and very relaxing particularly if traveling with the family.
PS: I found its website. If you don't want to call just check this website as is its weekly EPL games are listed on this site. Just scoll to the bottom, though some of the games do state "TBA".

"Short, but complete menu of British food (bangers this and chips that) and the food is always well prepared and hot! Plenty of good pints (Bass, Tetleys, Boddington, Guiness, etc.) and wine, but no liquor. Has Fox Sports World on the two televisions (21" and big screen)...good people and everybody is very friendly."

Frog and Toad" formerly the Tudor Inn
Bill Purdie writes, "A real Scots bar, they show Premier, internationals and Scottish Premeirship. Also have Scottish match tapes playing in the meantime, lots of Ranger and Celtic games. Good honest pub." Is also home to Ft Lauderdale Rangers Supporters Club.
The "Tudor Inn" in Ft Lauderdale--the scene of many a Fusion celebration, is no longer. Shortly after the demise of the Fusion, Bobby, the owner, sold it The good news is that it became the "Frog and Toad" - A Scottish pub to an English pub. While it still has some of the original feel, it generally looks better, but sadly the owner doesn't sem too interested in soccer, at least to the same degree that Bobby did. he attended all the Fusion games and was long-time friends with Ray, et al)

Indian Rock Beach
Red Lion Pub, 1407 Gulf Blvd, 727.596.5411.
Just across the street from the beach and is an English pub on the inside and a typical beach bar on the outside (with patio and tables with umbrellas). One main room with large screen TV at one end and lots of other TV's scattered around in strategic places. Approximately 50-60 people or so were there for the England v Finland match. Most of the patrons were Brits, and there was a nice mix of young and old. As it was a Setanta match and a World Cup Qualifier, cover was $20 for both the England and later Ireland matches. But the proprietors at Red Lion threw in a free (and very good!) full English breakfast as part of the deal (w/ HP available!). Not sure they do it for all regular weekend morning league matches as well, but it was a nice touch and helps to offset the high Setanta-mandated cover. Wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend highly making the trip for a match, even if you're driving the long drive from Sarasota, as I was. Remember to give yourself 90-120 minutes drive time from Bradenton or Sarasota, as once you get off I-275 in St. Pete you still have a good 20-30 minutes of city driving to the beach where the pub is located.
