Your thoughts? looks like they're startign to find their stride. Sean and Harkes are looking more comfortable, graphics look better. Still have a little way to go though.

Harkes is doing well, not afraid to mock.

Other guy is still annoying me, but it might be the Howdy Doody look.

I'm really just glad this show is on.

Don't forget about them showing the wrong clips. And there's still some time left. Let's see if the run out of things to say again.

One other thing that bothered me is the fact that they showed so few highlights from the DC-CO second half. There was some real action there - esp. in overtime.

I love the music. Excellent work by MLS on the commercial.

Best show yet. My only criticism is that they seem to search for controversy. It came across as contrived. If there's genuine controversy, don't back away from it. But don't create it either.

But really, that's a minor quibble. I thought it was a very strong show tonite. They seem to be whacking away a couple of weaknesses each week.

You know they are checking out the FSW forum and looking the criticisms. I didn't hear one "Harksie" all night, and was thankful.

I just want to know - are they starting to address all those emails and phone calls? ;)

I sent in a couple of emails and neither one made it to air.

1) Top A-League clubs for turning out MLS talent

2) How does KC use a sub Wolff for Bo?

That's got to be wrong.

first off, i just want to say i've added several fsw emails for their game of the week and mls wrap shows in my us soccer media directory (see sig... anyone catch the number so i can add it?)

ok, on to the show

wtf was with the snafu that resulted in no post game player interviews for the dallas-new england match... and why wasn't it fixed for the replay this morning?

i think they need to add another personality to the show... it's too much just harkes and wheelock... they did a good job, imo... but there is too much of each of them... and i realize there is another guy for the quick game calls, but they still need a fourth guy (for what i don't know)

i want to see more build-up too... hell, show how a team dominated a match with their passing (even in one that results in no goal... but was great ball work)... there's more than just goals, show us that

show some cards, tackles, build-ups, sloppy play... show us some fans providing great support (when it occurs... i can't remember if they showed the flares going off in kc by the fire fans, but they should have shown it on mls-wrap if they didn't)

i don't think i'm asking for too much, they can focus on adapting those in here and there... not every game they show highlights, but make each game have some variety with how it's highlighted

Nope. Fourth sub can be used for a keeper. I think when Fernando Clavijo did it a few years ago, though, didn't he have somebody on the field switch with the keeper, then sub on a guy for that guy, then move that guy out on the field and put the original keeper back in? Or something like that? He got a lot of crap for it, but the league said it was okay.

They allowed it this time, too. So unless MLS comes out on Monday and says it was wrong, it's kosher, if unusual.

Haven't watched the tape of this one yet.

I was talking to one of buddies today and we thought they should bring in Tab Ramos or try and find Dave Dir. They do need a 3rd person, someone for Harkes to banter with.

I really think Harkes is doing a bang up job, getting better every week. His attempts at humor are sometimes so bad, that they are funny.

Sean Wheelock is doing a better job each week as well.

What should have happened then is Wolff had to don the keeper shirt and gloves, then Bo can go in goal. But with Wolff coming off as a field player it isn't legal.

You have to have the famed "Keeper change" to make it legal.

Will MLS sort it out? No, just make it 4 subs and that's that.

I agree that the DC v. Colo. highlights failed to show some fairly dramatic play in late in the game, or that Etcheverry went off injured, which could be a big deal for DC.

Also, I didn't hear them mention that New England won while playing short handed (did I simply miss that, or did they omit a critical fact that made the result even more significant than a road win). I suspect the guys doing the highlights aren't following the games closely enough to pick up on the extra details (i.e., injuries, cards, etc.) which is why we get goal highlights, a few close calls, and not too much else in the game narrative. Part of the problem is the time crunch in doing a highlight show while some west coast games are still in progress.

Their replay of the Kreis header was great. They showed the play from the start of a corner kick through the clearance, to the diagonal ball that Kreis headed in.

John Harkes spent time in England, right? So we've got players on the "pitch" and every decent play is "brilliant." He needs to consult a thesaurus for some new vocabulary words.

While there are still glitches (playing the wrong tape after the NE v. Dal. highlights), rough patches, and times when they seem to be stretching to fill their hour, it's great to have MLS Wrap.

No. Tony Meola and Josh Wolff swapped positions. Since the keeper (Josh Wolff) was injured, Kansas City then used their keeper substitution to bring Bo Oshoniyi on for Josh Wolff.

It's the second time Tony's done that. Tim Howard came on for the last 18 minutes many years ago (possibly his debut) - I think that game was actually against KC, but I'm too lazy to look it up.

Then write your congressman.

I'll let you in on this one as well: Sometimes the secondbaseman doesn't really touch the bag on the double play.

I didn't see the swap, therefore illegal.

I've heard of this mythical thing about double plays, but I thought it was a innuendo. The analogy would be the intentional pass without throwing a pitch.

Had they done the keeper change, it would have added some precious minutes to the game. Of course they could have given up another goal, which would have been very amusing or Josh "I don't want to play on Field turf because I might get hurt" Wolff could have been injured yet further- but for accounting purposes do it right, especially if you are monkeying with the rules of the game.
