I don't think they have the resources for that just yet. You're expecting CNN capabilities on a public access budget.

The problem is too they'd have to do it all on their own, CNN and ESPN have agreements where they can use local feeds. For example instead of sending a reporter to a news story somewhere they'll use the footage from a local affiliate and voice over that, or get the sound bites from that. Since there isn't anybody else sticking a camera in Gaber's face, they'd have to do it themselves. Either with free lancers or whatever. What would be interesting would be if they ever got to a point where they could start using the resources of the regional FSNs or Fox News people to start pulling stuff in.

I can just see Sean and John: "Sean's World! Sean's World! Party On! Excellent!"

Fair enough. But that implies FSW is content with airing non-commercial-quality programming. If they figure they won't significantly add viewers by improving the "accessibility" of the show (and spending money to do so), then that's a sound financial calculation on their part.

However, if they have a few thousand extra dollars to invest in the show's production, and they haven't decided which way to spend it, I just think that a beefed-up news and analysis segment would be a good way to do it.

I'm two hours from NYC. If they want to give me a camera from the NYC Fox office and some equipment, I'd be more than happy to go to MLS office once a week till I get a real job.

I can't imagine how great the budget is for the METRO Soccer Report on MSG...but perhaps MLS Wrap can watch and get tips from them on how to cover controversial topics and show pertinent highlights..
