The world cup raised interest in the MLS by leaps and bounds, now the addition of Beckham will do the same. Over the next year interest in the MLS will probably skyrocket. What will that do to Atlanta's chances of landing an MLS team? It could mean more interest from investors in Atlanta, but at the same time it will mean more interest for other markets as well (namely our biggest competition: Philly, San Jose, Seattle, Cleveland, St. Louis, and NY #2). What are Atlanta's chances of getting a team before 2010?

I don't know about pressure, but it might speed things up. If Beckahm frenzy takes hold of the nation, and MLS audience's rise throughout the season, the number of potential investors will increase and thus speed up the expansion.

Now add to that the Ronaldo rumor and that Edgar Davids is also in talks with Dallas right now with ESPN's recent purchase of TV rights, could be an exciting season :)

I think it could definately help Atlanta's chances due to the fact we're a top ten media market.

After the Beckham announcement, there were 10 people sign up with MLStoAtlanta in one day. Coincidence?

Probably alot investors who were stradling the fence might want to jump in while the price for a franchise is relatively low. The Beckham signing added tons of excitement to league for sure. It probably might bring some prospective owners out of the woodwork. If I only had some millions somewhere.
