View Full Version : Digital Cable Shootout Problems Week 3

Much better for me this week. However not perfect. I didn't get the SJ-LA game, just a "One moment pleae, this channel will be available shortly" message. I did make a contact at Comcast dealing with them this week, so he'll be getting a cal tomorrow or Monday about this. Apparently last week they reconfigured all their PPV channel, so I think the fixed the problem on the first three SPPV channels, which got me the first 3 games today, but they didn't fix the 4th channel. They probably looked at last week's schedule, saw that 3 channels were in use, and assumed those were the three channels that needed fixing, without looking to see that up to 5 channels could be in use.
I got to see the Rapids game, which was the important one to me, so I'm not too upset. Still, they need to get it fixed.
Anyone else with problems, Comcast or other providers?

Just thought I'd mention that recently with my Mediacom digital cable I was getting the "one moment please, this channel will be available shortly" message on a few of my digital channels. A tech had to come out and boost the signal because that message indicated that the signal was too weak.
I have Charter digital cable but do not get the Shootout. Anybody out there with Charter tell me your experience with trying to order it or watch it.

I just wanted to mention that Adelphia gave me every game without a hitch. After spending the past couple years ripping Adelphia I thought I would give them their due for getting it right this week.

No problems for me this week either. But there have been so many problems in the past that every single week - indeed, before every single game - I still prepare myself for the possibility and even the likelihood that the game won't be delivered as it should be.
I've even considered putting Adelphia's customer service number on speed dial.

I have had nothing but problems with my digital cable from Cablevision from day one, The first two people that installed it did it wrong, then I had noise problems and had to have box replaced, now sometimes my Fox SPorts World channel just does not come in, as well as several others? What is the deal wit the shitty digital service>?Seems like it is not ready for prime time as a technology, at least for Cablevision

After complaining about Adelphia's problems while ordering the shootout package and watching the first weekend, I should say that the problems have been rectified. The last two weekends have been flawless.

I got the approval to order the shootout this week from the Mrs.
Comcast doesn't offer it in my area. I hate them.
Can't they press a few keys and voila we have shootout in my town?
