Would cost you guys 700.000 euros to buy Christopher Samba, he is a RB, CB or DM at age 23. He's had a falling out with our coach, and now he's ready to let him go, I personally think he has all the abilities to be a decent CB or DM in the Bundesliga.
I hope things go well for him at Rovers.

I was wondering why this guy was being allowed to leave for so cheap. Just on potential alone he should fetch a heftier transfer fee...
However we already have one DC/DM who is finding it hard to stay in the team (Mokoena) so I wonder if Samba would be the same mold....Thankfully he's coming on trial so Hughes can look him over before he commits.
How good is he supporting the defense in a 4-4-2? What are his best attributes? He more of a strong man or does he have some ability going forward? Any insight would be much appreciated!

He is a very tall centerback, 6'5" and is a big lad. He is very very raw though, he has all the physical attributes and is a good passer, but is too mentally slow IMHO. But that comes in playing games, and that he hasn't had under Falko Goetz. He always gets put in in the like the 88th minute or something if he does get into a game, so we really don't know. The only game he's started in die Bundesliga the last 2 years was against last placed 1. FC Koeln last year, and he got hosed by Lukas Podolski for 2 goals and was at fault for another one. After that, I think Goetz disliked him, unfair really, it was just one game.

I hope he does well for us.
Though to be honest, when I read the thread title, I thought it was going to be about Rovers trying to play like Brazil, which would be very nice.

And here we are, the only two people who have thought about it this deeply.

Actually when I had him (I think this was CM 01/02 or something?) he wasn't that good, so I'm shocked when people talk about him so reveredly

I live to shock.....and watch Rovers never win anything, and watch England never win anything, and support the wife, and, well, that's about it.

A major bargain. Of course the Hertha officials had no idea. Unlike the fans. Sometimes you just gotta ask why these guys earn what they earn

he got flat out beat a couple of times yesterday, and he made one or two bad passes, but he was under constant attack and for the most part was really successful at stealing the ball with nifty footwork or muscling people off. I was pleased, and I wouldn't mind seeing him have a go at DM.

Aber es ist sehr gut für Rovers. Wir brauchen billige und gute Spieler, weil wir nicht viel Geld haben.

Samba has passed the "test," according to the official site.
http://www.rovers.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,10303~983604,00.html
"He cost something like £400K which is a steal in this current market, so it was a big test for him but he stepped up to the mark and I thought he was magnificent."
"He is going to be a big player for us, literally!"
