I seriously heard that Saddam was a Hibs fan. Anyone know if that is true?

Fullham. They have a tremendous fan base and play attractive footy. I've supported them since 1973 and they've never let me down.

yeah, they keep winning all those titles

They support Arsenal.

yeah but so does the Queen. I don't see how celebrity supporters are relevant at all. and nor is relegation, as Bluebirds rightly pointed out. Bill Simmons did a good job of chronicling the struggles of an American trying to settle on an EPL team, and any literate exposure in America is good exposure, but that doesn't mean that everyone should follow in Simmons' footsteps or use the same set of criterion that he used.

This seems like a thread that would be very heated. Correct me if Im wrong but I did not feel like reading every page. Most Americans are in this boat. Its a vicious cycle. We like soccer but we dont look within our country for a team to support, and I admit Im the same way.

The MLS doesnt even get a giant fanbase from Americans so its a bad cycle of pretty much soccer not getting very far in this country which allows these ESPN assholes to downgrade the sport and assume no Americans like it. It's bullshit.

I don't see why Americans can't have a premiership team to support and an MLS team to support...

it's like marmite, you love it or hate it.

mr choppa , you didn't pick a team quick enough.therefore the epl bandwagon computer has been given your details.it will pick a team for you in about 20 seconds.
your information feed into the computer was
male (probally aged 14-19)
new to english football
easily put off by scary individuals at west ham/spurs
picked clubs from bag but wasn't happy
wants a top team
wants red uniform

result
computer says you not ready for top flight football and will have to work your way up.thereforethe only team to meet your critearia is...........walsall fc.

good choice.top of the division 2,play in red, from englands 2nd city ,nickname the saddlers with an almost new stadium they sell out every week.
so thats your team PK stick with it heartache and glory for years to come
and remember "you can't learn to win till you've learnt to lose"

Don't support a team in the Premiership, support your local team in your country. You are killing your local teams by not supporting them. Watch the Prem on TV, but don't go out and buy a Chelsea/Man Utd/Liverpool/Arsenal shirt. Don't be a sheep.

And don't tell me that you don't want to watch your local team because they are not good and no one else likes them. They will always be rubbish if you and others take that opinion.

OK then cut out all this 'local team' business. Liverpool are not local to you anymore. You're killing Seoul teams by not supporting them.

Why does one have to support only one club? Is the heart not big enough to take in more than one? Especially since they play in separate leagues?

I have more than one favorite, in fact I have several. I like Charlton, New York Red Bulls, Hertha Berlin, and Estudiantes. If one were to play another in a meaningful competition, then I'll be conflicted, but until then, there's nothing to it.

I do go to watch my local team in Seoul, but I couldn't ever say I support them in the same way as I do Liverpool.

The team, Seongnam, are woefully undersupported, the stadium is half-empty there, coz everyone here would rather watch Park Ji-Sung on TV, getting a 10 mins run-out at the end of a Man Utd match.

Should I stop supporting Liverpool coz I don't live there anymore? Would you stop supporting Bolton if work/life took you elsewhere?

gosh darn it people. Just support whoever the ******** you want. You don't need to explain why and when. As long as you stay loyal to your club, support the club in their difficult times and don't jump on the next popular wagon that comes along, you are fine.

These threads are useless.

I think you'll find it was 1-2 actually.

Liverpool, great club, terrible city.

Their fans are dillusionists who still convince themselves they're the best club in the world? :p

The reds of Manchester mate. That's who you want. A win this weekend at Liverpool and the title is practially ours..... :D

Hmmmm, for such an obsessive Liverpool fan you should at least be able to remember the result of a match that was barely a week ago.

This is stupid. If you want to support a Premiership team watch the football matches and one team will become your favorite.

This thread is like asking your mom to find you a wife...you may end up happy but you'll never feel the passion of finding your true love  .
