How would you all define "support"? And what's the difference between that and interest?
I cant get to games anymore but still support west ham. That means I get a screwed up feeling in my gut when we look like winning something or, like last year fight relegation, My son supports the geordies. I look for their score; thats interest.
Hell. Its impossible to explain. This guy is a supporter:

He's also funny as shit.
Now do you see the difference?

Ok, nothing in that definition excludes someone from supporting more than one team. That's what I was getting at.
I know what I think is the difference. I'm just interested in hearing what others have to say.
Guys on here are saying that you can't really support more than one team. I'd like to hear an explanation as to why.

I don't know how you could support more than 1 team, because to me you can only be a fanatic of 1 team. But people claim to support plenty of teams so I guess you just have to take their word for it even though it is probably just interest, if one of their teams loses they aren't gutted they just think "oh that team that I like in Spain is not the best".

I think that it is easiest to be a good supporter when you only follow one team. Two works. Three's pushing. Anything more than three makes it pretty hard to follow your teams well.

I support Birmingham City (God knows why),. I get pissed off when we lose, which is quite often , and really excited when i'm going to a game. I have shed tears of joy and sadness over them since i was 11 (OMG 24 years ago!!).
I will follow them through thick and thin and I will do for the rest of my life. I've spent thousands of pounds following them home and away and buying replica shirts.
I have an interesst in Worcester City cuz thats where I live and if i'm not at Birmingham I sometimes go and watch them play. Whilst I like to see them do well, if they lose it doesn't really bother me.

I guess the closest thing to sopporting another team I get is Hamburg, I always want them to do well since that's where I'm from, but if they lose I really don't care. I want Hull City to get promoted aswell just for the amount of former Bolton players they have.

No, he's an awful awful Manager, and now he's even sticing up for our retard of a Chairman, I swear they are having an affair. If it's any consolation I really wanted to see Fulham go down, I hate clubs who have only got fans because they are in the top division and they haven't had to build anything up like a real club, they have just been handed it on a plate by some rich arab.

I can see supporting more than one team if the teams are on opposite ends of the world. For instance I find it ridiculous some people support two big clubs!! Like AC MILAN and MAN U, give me a break. But I can see supporting say HOUSTON DYNAMO and WEST HAM.
I don't know what joy people get out of supporting huge massive clubs if they were able to choose them for their favorite.
I'm looking for an MLS team to adopt as my favorite, but not a single team grabs my interest.

Same, I am looking to support an MLS team but not one in the area, and none have really grabbed my interest. Im close to the Red Bulls, but the main reason is Altidore and he'll be out soon.

Just wait a few years, Georgia/Florida is bound to get a team soon. Until then, go for NY, since you already like them.

You can't go round switching teams.. choosing who you want to support is one thing, and supporting more than one team aswell, but switching teams when you get bored of them is stupid.
