Ye but Bolton have got Gandalf. :) So we win this round.

Gandalf was just the facilitator. We have the ringbearer. I mean, c'mon!

people who know nothing about the sport should be taken out and shot. Slowly like by Willow in the penultimate series of Buffy. Naturally they should then be flayed alive. Or they should support West Ham like the hobbit does

That's funny, because I think everyone that likes Buffy the Vampire Slayer should be taken out and shot.

And we've got Sting, far better than any imaginary wizard or furry footed dwarf.

You need to support a team you genuinely like. You shouldnt just support a team because 'O theyre the champions'. You need to find out which team excites you the most. No one can tell you who to support, you need to decide on your own.;)

If we don't beat Sunderland we are down, but then again I think we can draw it if you and Fulham draw, I really hope you and Fulham draw. :D:D Reading are near enough safe because they get to play Derby last game of the season. :(

Funny, I never knew Sting supported Cleveland or DC United.
Honestly, how can anyone support three teams? I think this is a real US/world divide.

You knew which team I was referring to. NUFC.

And as to why I support three teams? My city did not have professional soccer until last year, before that I supported DC. Before DC's existence, considering the vast gap between NASL and MLS, who should I support? Yeah, there was the A-league, but it's not top flight football. Was I supposed to stop supporting Newcastle because the MLS came into existence? Was I supposed to stop supporting DC, because I know have Cleveland City? None of these teams compete with each other, with maybe the exception of the US Open Cup, and that match has not happened yet. Are you telling me there is no one in any other country besides the US that supports more than one team in different competitions?

If I were an English fan of American football would there be anything wrong with me supporting the Cleveland Browns all my life and then being over joyed with the rise of the sport's popularity in the UK in the '80s giving me the opportunity to support the Newcastle Browns (now the Gateshead Senators)? And then, in the early '90s, perhaps I heard that the NFL would be creating a high-level professional league in Europe with a team based in London. Would it be wrong to support the new national team, the London Monarchs?

Some of us are not lucky enough to live in parts of the world where teams have existed for decades and are passed on from one member of the family to the next.

There was never a rise of American Football in England, which is why only yankee fanboys actually have an interest in it, but silentounce is correct you can support 3 teams, I myself could not support more than 1, but of course I do have favoured teams in other countries, but I don't actually get annoyed if they lose I just like to see them do well.

Simple, Leeds is the way to go. Passionate fans, (a little too passionate). We have a classic story. Almost-top-dog, trying to compete with bigger clubs, failing miserably, yet still determined to make a comeback. Full of ourselves. Reminiscent about our illustrious history. Our belief that we still can beat man u if we ever play. Massive fan base. Sort of like your inappropriate story telling uncle that always seems drunk. You either love us or hate us.

Now the bad.
-Our fans. Some of us are a little too emotional. They will literally do anything to see our club succeed. Our stereotype isn't enviable despite most of us being good people. Which leads me to (pun intended),
-The hatred towards Leeds. Almost everyone hates us. They still laugh and taunt us, even though we play in league one. When Leeds looses an important match, some man u fan will be rubbing our noses in it. It's like kicking a dead horse, enough already!!! Chants of 'everybody hates Leeds scum' can be heard at Old Trafford regularly. To be fair, we respond accordingly. Mind you, it's not everyone. But a good percentage of England does. If you can bounce off the critics, this won’t bother you.
- We play in League one. We may not get that much TV time. But if you look around the net, you can always watch Leeds afc play. If we get into the championship this season, this will be a non issue as the championship gets TV time.
Theres more, but I won’t elaborate.

We will be back. Our fan base is as big as ever. We still have a good football academy. With good management, we will be back in the top flight in 5 years. And be a permanent fixture in 10, tops. Join the ride. We have the one thing that most other clubs will never have, diehard fans. We still pack Elland Road. And that will never change.
And……..MOT is one of the best theme songs in England. Ask anyone.

We just lost at home to carlisle in the playoffs 2-1. And we were lucky to get that one. Winning at their yard won't be easy, so maybe another year in League 1, but this time without the -15. Reckon we can get in the top 2 this time?

How would you all define "support"? And what's the difference between that and interest?
