No idea who this Gerrerd is, but isn't it funny how Lampard has totally dissapeared now that Chelski don't play to suit his every whim ?
Who could have forseen that ?

I say for any newcomer into the world of football, to support a smaller club. Why, well here are the reasons.
Supporting a team like Manyoo, Liverpool, Chelski or Gooners will earn you the nickname of glory hunter or bandwagoneer because of their success in the past.
Although the best way is to actually watch as many games from as many teams and try to chose which style you like the most.
I find it hard to say which club one should support. Glory hunting is always looked down up by most fans, and I'm sure you'd rather avoid feeling like your not a genuine fan or being accoused of only following the team because of their recent success.
So, West Ham, Charlton, Bolton, Tottenham, Fulham are the potential candidates, in which West Ham are fighting relegation and are perhaps a club that one should support because of their rather lucklustre history, it makes it so much more meaningful when one supports such a club.

Watch Green Street Hooligans.
If that movie is suppose to set me off against West Ham, than it failed, because after watching it, I felt more keen to follow West Ham than ever before. Which has caused for the resurgence of trying to watch West Ham games, along with Liverpool ones.
Great movie, even with Elijah, who isn't all that terrible.

I agree, I meant he should watch that because it will only solidify him likeing West Ham. I have a soft sport for them now...except for saturday. :D

I think its that typical North American thing, rooting for the underdog, although personally I hate all the disney movies (Goal, Mighty Ducks) about sports where the underdogs win, cause in reality, it hardly ever happens.

What! D2 the Mighty Ducks could arguably be the best sports movie ever made. :D

he has scored 4 times in the last 3 games.
And the quality of opponent was ?
Wigan ? Who even we battered.
Some team in a cup no one gives a toss about.
Did he score against Wycombe?
Do me a favour he is a shadow of the player he was and you can thank Abramovich for that next time you sing "that's why were champions" to the same tune ironically as his chant.

you can only beat a team you are playing. And if you think he is a shadow of aplayer he once was, you clearly don't watch enough football, or at least, Chelsea. yes, he is not scoring as much as the previous 2 seasons or so, but his contribution on the pitch is just as valuable.

Chelsea is having a problem at this current time, so the fact that fat Frank is not scoring is part of a bigger problem. Whether that's because Abramovich and Mourinho are at odds or because Shevchenko is an overhyped, overpriced git who already passed his prime or because Chelsea already experienced its high and is at its downfall to mediocracy, like Real Madrid.

ok, im new to this form and just wondering if anyone could give me a suggestion on what team to support in, i just started watching the EPL.
please do yourself a favour. never support west ham or the like. they will give years of heartache ,decades of pulling your hair out and just when you think your going to win your first trophy for 20 years some scouse will stick one in from 30 yards.
just support one of the big four, like all the others watching on satalite all over the world. they need all the money you'll spend on shirts and mechandise to keep them up the top, while we fight for 5th place and a 1st round exit to palermo in next years uefa cup.
so your choice is arsenal, man utd, chelsea, maybe liverpool.hope this helps
yours happy hammer .seat q345. the rio ferdinand stand. boleyn ground.west ham.
