Not really, I just know that the fans aren't very loyal/passionate most of them are new ones from abroad or ones who have been drawn to the club by their wealthy owner, and they aren't very good. :D

hahahaha
Thats cool lol so its got everything except the cornerstone for their offense lol
know anything about Fulham?
I repectfully think that you're going about this the wrong way. The best way to pick a team -- watch a lot of football. Ultimately you'll find you are drawn to a team by a favorite player, a style of play, a great game, or even just find a soft spot for another reason entirely.
There are all kind of reasons to pick a team. Most English teams have loads of history -- certainly more than all but a few American teams in any sport. I just don't think that one picks a team by making a reasoned analysis the way you would if you were buying car insurance. Pick from the heart, not the head.
Have you ever considered Melchester Rovers? ;)

I don't think there are any American teams with more history, given that just about all the american sports were invented by Englishmen, after the formation of the traditional games in England.

As a longtime Fulham fan, I must say the one big bonus of having all these US players come along (aside from the the fact that they tend to be good value for the dollar/pound) is that Fulham games are televised here in the states a lot. I catch them on FSC (comcast) easily every other weekend.
That obviously changes if they go down, but dammit, the season isn't over yet.

biginternet, I can barely watch games, i get about 4 every weekend from the premier league and can only watch about 2 full ones.
I did watch newcastle vs fulham and it looked like bulalrd tried to do everything and no one helped and that gets me mad :( I've never seen Bolton play before and next game on FSC is in like 3 weeks, but Fulham is on again next week so ill watch them to see if they get any success ( itll be last time there on FSC for the entire season) but...
Im kind of hooked on Bullard ever since i first saw him nail a free kick to win a game like a month ago
Itll take me so long to watch and see if i like teams but i guess in the end itll be worth it right?
I wish there were other ways to watch soccer :(

I'm sorry to say it but it does look as if Bolton and Fulham are going down. But I'm confident both will get promoted instantly. We just need some help getting our manager and chairman sacked:( Please help.

You should be able to download the games on like the BBC or SkySports sites. They won't be live but at least you'll be able to see whats happened.

Bullard (ugly as the guy is!) is definitely a joy to watch. Has one hell of a freekick too.
Fulham is in trouble because they hired the Northern Ireland coach, who spent all of Fayed's money on crap Northern Ireland players. And couldn't coach to save his life either.
Hodgson is a tad bit better, with some decent pickups in January. But our fans continue to wish we had Coleman back at the reins. What he could have done with 25 million... <sigh>

What does comcast have to do with what games FSC shows?
Anyway, to get an opinion in here other than massiv's, no offense intended at all... it seems to me you've already settled on Fulham. Also, I tend to agree with the people that supporting a team shouldn't be an accountant like affair of weighing different factors to decide who you should root for. Give it time, it'll come to you. You mentioned earlier that you can't stick with a team. When you really find your team you won't have that problem. Why do you need one team so bad anyway? If you force yourself to follow them I hardly think you'll get that much enjoyment out of it. Just watch and eventually you'll find yourself pulling for a team.
Another interesting thing would be how people in England ended up following certain American sports teams, like in the NFL for example. The teams you support might not be relevant to this thread, but how you came to support who you do may help some trying to find a premiership side.

Where are your origins from? Like is your family originally from England or Ireland or whatever? Because I would suggest you support the team from whatever town they came from.

it's more like, keep it at the back whilst the forwards work their way up the pitch, pass it to central midfield, wait for a bit of movement and a player in space up front, pass it to one of them, there will be 3 of them usually, then they'll kick the ball into the box, and the striker will do something stupid and miss an open goal.
You forgot the bit where the other team score on the break:D

New England founded by emigrants from Essex and east London. West Ham is your local club.

Ummmm... wouldn't this be his local club: Boston United Football Club (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_United_F.C.)
;)
Or, if you want to go a more historical route. William Blaxton(Blackstone) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Blaxton) was the first settler of Boston and he was from County Durham, England. Since there were no established clubs (that we know of) in 1600, we don't know for sure who he would have supported. Not being from England, Hartlepool United is the only league club (currently League One) that I know of in that county, but there may be others. Also, he went to Cambridge University so perhaps you could go for Cambridge United, although, they're not even in the league as of a few years ago.
Google is a wonderful thing:
Apparently, Darlington FC is also in Durham County currently playing in League Two.
Oh, and the county is near both Newcastle and Sunderland.
In other news, if you want to go for complete agony:
Report Says Notts County Most Stressful Football Club to Support in England (http://www.theoffside.com/world-football/report-says-notts-county-most-stressful-football-club-to-support-in-england.html)

Heh, I actually learned a few things today. Thank you BS.

Well, if you're Irish just support Sunderland or Celtic, like all the others do.

How is Sunderland Irish?
also West Ham would be a bostonians team because people who founded Boston came from that teams area? lol
BOSTON MA is AWESOME

Well Sunderland is Irish because they are owned by an Irishman, the Manager is Irish, the Chairman is Irish, they are sponsored by an Irish company and they have 11 Irish players (more than they do English). So all in all pretty Irish.
