I have been to Bolton (tho I'm buggered f I can remember why). Its worse than Frederick, which is kind of cute if very dull.

OK, so you're telling me you've been to Frederick (which is kind of cute, and really historic: in that some parts of it are over 100 years old)?
I have a mate who comes from Bolton, he now lives in Rome (Good choice).
And I'm sure you're cute, but I was talking about Frederick.

I can guarentee Bolton is more historic, and is one of the most historical footballing towns in the world, even containing the world oldest football pitch. And like most Towns everyone has shit parts and nice parts, and I live in the nice part:) If it was so awful I don't think people like Gary/Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Solksjaer, all the Bolton team, half the Blackburn team, Gary Lineker amongst others would live here.
I think I got a bit carried away sorry. :D NO ONE DISSES BOLTON

Luverly. I guaruntee that Bolton is more historic than Frederick. Most places are. No one disses Bolton? Wouldnt dream of it. No one misses Bolton and a LOT of people leave it. There must be a reason.

I cannot stay with a team, its so hard.
I want a good team but not Top 4. Currently these are my choices.
Reading
Birmingham City
Bolton
Wigan Athletic
Blackburn
Middlesbrough
I want a team that wont get relegated but could have a chance at the UEFA cup next year. I want a progressing team.
Could you tell me what the characteristics of these teams are?
EX: Bolton- Aggressive and have good strikers but lack good defense ( i don't know that but its an example)
PLEASE HELP ME :(
Thank You

Bolton - Have no strikers but a solid defense, an idiot for a manager, no money, are Reebok's bitches, going to get relegated because the chairman is an idiot.
Middlesborough - No fans, no passion.
Wigan - Shit at football, poorer than Bolton, all interbred.
Blackburn - Interbred, probably the best team out of what you listed, no real fans, shit stadium, they are losing more fans than they are getting.
Reading - might get relegated if Bolton don't, play as a team but have no good individual players, their best player is a pikey, they ahve a couple of Americans, but are fairly awful.
Birmingham - Probably the best support out of the teams listed, will get bought by someone rich quite soon I imagine (if they stay in the league), so might have a bright future, they can score goals but have a weak midfield and defense.
All the teams you have listed will not get a UEFA Cup spot this year, and I think Blackburn are the only one with any hope of getting there in the next few years. If you really want a team with ambition but not top 4, I would go for Everton, good fans, good players, lots of cash, and pushing for a UEFA Cup spot.

What about Fulham, what are they like?
Also I think its down to
Reading
Birmingham
Fulham
Bolton
But is Bolton THAT awful? Like no hope at all?
What teams attack the net relentlessly of these and what play conservatively?
Thank you so much, sorry for all the questions

No worries I'm happy to help. Bolton are no worse than the other teams there and probably have the best squad, but we are close to being relegated and we have awful management. Fulham have the most American players in the league, but are pretty much destined to be relegated as they are 19th.
Bolton play a disliked and unpopular style of football, it involves being quite physical and basically bullying the other team off the ball and then knocking balls into the box, out of them all Bolton probably ahs the best build up play, but we have no striker who can score a goal which is why we are doing so badly.
Reading like to attack and probably play the "best" style of football out of the teams you've mentioned but are let down by a poor defence.
Neither Birmingham or Fulham really play attacking or defensively, but they are probably closer to playing conservatively, they rely heavily on set pieces and don't really have the quality to open up the game.
All the teams you have listed are in danger of being relegated, but if Bolton stay up they will have a decent season next year if they sign a goalscorer, whereas the other teams need strengthening throughout the squad. It won't be enjoyable supporting any of these teams, but you can't help it. :D

Yeah, for some reason i like the lower teams.
Still can't decide
Is Bolton's style "Old School". It seems interesting.
I like Fulham because of Jimmy Bullard but it seems he has to do EVERYTHING and doesn't have a supporting cast except for the Americans
This is so tough lol
I think it'll come down to the players personalities for me, any exciting people for Bolton? ( as you are a fan)
also the loyalty of the fans which i dont care about the number of fans as i do how loyal they are

Well, Boltons most stand out player is probably El Hadji Diouf, who is notorious for being a real idiot on the pitch like spitting in people faces, but off the pitch he is considered to be one of the nicest guys, he walked into an Arsenal pub when he was in London and bought everyone in the pub drinks, and he's recently set up his own charity. Not got anyone else who's really that exciting other than him, we've got one of the best goalkeepers in Europe though.
Well Bolton fans are fairly loyal, we were selling out stadiums even when we were in the 3rd/4th Division, but lately support has gotten worse as many fans disagree with the new stadium being built on the outskirts, but the support could be so much better, this season we've only had attendances of around 18,000 on average, which is poor really, but many of the fans have totally lost patience with the management of the club and refuse to hand over any more money to them so that they can shove it in their pockets. Bolton and Birmingham have the most loyal fans.
And if you want a team with History, Bolton are probably the best bet, there is a thread in the Bolton Wanderers forum about it.

Yeah I read it, Great read
So Bolton beats people up, runs up the wings, crosses in the box and keeps pounding the net and don't let it out?
Or they try to do that lol
How soon will they sign a striker?
BoltonMassiv
24 Mar 2008, 03:38 PM
We can only sign a striker at the end of the season, which is why everyone thinks we're doomed. If we get relegated I have no idea what will happen to the club, it will be ruined. If we manage to stay up we'll be ok for a while, but it really is just painting over the rust, one day or another the management of the club needs to be sorted out, and it's better sooner rather than later, we just have to hope that relegation will kick a few people into action.
And yes that's exactly how Bolton plays. :D

So pass it around back slowly and make way up wings then cross or
GO GO GO and sprint up field like fast paced like the phoenix suns?
I am trying to figure out the strategies of Fulham and Bolton so when i play FIFA i can play like them too :D
BoltonMassiv
24 Mar 2008, 03:53 PM
it's more like, keep it at the back whilst the forwards work their way up the pitch, pass it to central midfield, wait for a bit of movement and a player in space up front, pass it to one of them, there will be 3 of them usually, then they'll kick the ball into the box, and the striker will do something stupid and miss an open goal.
