Support a team that everybody else does, so everybody will think you are a glory hunter.

Support a London team. Perferrably Arsenal, Chelsea or Spurs.
Are you from London?:D

Dont support one of the big 4, i really dont see the point to be honest. If you want to support club that has great support, and a strange history support Birmingham City FC.
Founded in 1875, we were the first English team to beat Inter Milan at the San Siro back in 1960 and also beat the Vile to win the League Cup in 1963, but to be fair we havent done much else, it's acutally quite insane that such a big club has never really won anything.
We are back in the Premiership next season and with reported new owners on their way to the club and reports that it could be Lakshmi Mittal who is worth £19.25 Billion pounds who is intrested we could be going places.
Anyway as our anthem states "Keep Right On To The End Of The Road" and do the right thing.

Support a team that isn't that great now, so when they are bought by some American or Russian billionaire and become great, you can say that you were a fan even when they were mediocre and look a lot cooler. Being a glory hunter is the worst, of course.
Make sure you support a club that is in a city you'd actually want to visit, though.

I myself am an American, and had some searching to do.
I thought about Liverpool, Charlton, Aston Villa, and even Arsenal. But what it came down to for me is that I wanted to get to know a club, and see if I was inspired by their history. Look no further than the Reds of the Northwest. The Munich Air Disaster? Their fall from grace and glorious uprising? Too good for me, so I decided to go with them. And I believe that they are not at all the "Yankees of English football". That would be Chelsea. Still, I spent way too much time on the PC looking up United facts. I'd go with a medium sized club, which is always nice. I'd think you should pick Everton, I really want to see a game at Goodison.
Then my other top club is Celtic. I felt I first needed a team in the U.K. that wasn't from England. So I looked North, and being the stereo-typical American of Irish descent and living under the Catholic faith, Celtic were the perfect fit. I love Celtic, their fan base is truly loyal, and moral. Whether its behaving on away trips, or degrading racism at all costs, they are true role model supporters.
So, there's some things to think about.

There couldn't be a more ignorant and stupid comment on this board. I was just expressing my own opinion, one we are entitled to. In the meantime, go take a piss on Tobacco Road.
Chelsea FC:
English Titles : 3
FA Cups : 4
UEFA Cup Winner's Cups : 2
European Cups : 0
Manchester United FC:
English Titles : 16
FA Cups : 11
UEFA Cup Winner's Cups : 1
European Cups : 2
And now for Scotland...
Hearts of Midlothian FC:
Scottish Titles : 4
Scottish Cups : 7
Scottish League Cups : 4
European Cups : 0
Celtic FC:
Scottish Titles : 41
Scottish Cups : 34
Scottish League Cups : 13
European Cups : 1
Yep, there have been so many losses, and so little wins and trophies to go along with them. For Chelsea, that one Cup Winner's Cup is so big, its about the equivalent of...not very much at all. (Not to mention both of your clubs not even making in to a European Cup final) Once you've actually done something in football for over a half century, talk to me.
P.S. Thanks for Hartley and Pressley, even though they are shite.

Really? Your first post in this thread seems to fit the bill quite nicely. This part stood out.

Fullham. They have a tremendous fan base and play attractive footy. I've supported them since 1973 and they've never let me down.
Fulham.....tremedous fan base? There were ten Championship clubs with higher average attendances last season.
