View Full Version : Arsenal Ticket decision on Possible Cup Finals. READ BEFORE PM'ING ME ABOUT TICKETS FOR FINALS

Arsenal have advised their new Cup Final ticketing policy. The allocation will follow 3 basic principles:

a) Members of the Away Season Ticket scheme will be guaranteed a ticket.

b) The majority of remaining tickets will be allocated to Gold/Platinum members who have attended the highest number of away fixtures over the last two seasons.

c) A significant number of tickets will be allocated to all other Gold/Platinum members – to be allocated by random ballot.

Most Supporters Clubs welcome this news – whilst no policy can totally satisfy and meet the needs of 43,000 Gold/Platinum members this scheme rewards the loyalty and support of those who travel away, whilst also giving all other season-ticket holders a reasonable opportunity of obtaining a ticket.

Now, how it affects us:-

We have a selection of season tickets and I hav made sure by buying away tickets that we have a good chance of getting Final tickets off of all of them.

The priority will be as follows:

1) The person who has paid up front for that ticket.

2) People who have been to the most away games over the past two seasons in that competition. So if you went to three away Carling Cup games, you have a good chance of getting a Carling Cup Final ticket. If you went to any Champions League away games, you have a better chance of getting tickets for those games. Tickets will be allocated on a "credit" basis like the Club do.

3) If two or more people have the same credits for one ticket, there will be a ballot.

4)You must be a member of Arsenal America from the 10th January 2007.

5) If no-one has credits that wants to go but has Premiership away credits then that is the next priority.

I will ALWAYS get many more applications than I have tickets for Finals. I can only base how I allocate tickets on how the club do. Last season some people complained that they hadn't kept their membership up and so still wanted to be in with a shout. Others said they didn't agree with the ballot. At the end of the day, my decision as Ticket Officer is final. Membership is not just for tickets and there are many that sign up knowing they won't get to a game this season.

Silver and Red Members will NOT get access to tickets from the club. I get asked about this all the time. There is not enough tickets to go around for these membership levels. Please don't ask the questions that I always get asked re this!!!!!

Seriously, how many people from ArsenalAmerica went to Paris without a ticket last year. At least 10 I would guess.

Probably, so basing on this years season tickets, we would of been able to allocate 6 or 7 of them tickets. Im just doing this for info, to try and save me any possible headache later on in the season.

Sounds like a good plan Rick. In May we can smack around the people who do not read this or ignore it.

and how many of them got to see the game, 9?

;)

Top notch reply there.

I don't need or want a hundred PM's asking about the Carling Cup Final and various questions that can be answered elsewhere. So this is how it is going to work.

If a member of Arsenal America as of the 10th January 2007 would like to be considered for any tickets as detailed in the first post I need the following in a post here, not a PM. Anyone PM's me and they will INSTANTLY be rejected from having a chance of a ticket. And for obvious reasons, no - you will not be in with a hope of two tickets. Your wife/boyfriend/girlfriend/husband do not get to go at the expense of a real fan:

Name
Arsenal America username
Flight Details or a guarantee that it is not a problem paying x amount of money to jump on a plane for a last minute ticket to see the Final.

Make sure to clearly pronounce your name around fellow Arsenal fans. Mike Riley is not a popular name!

Rick,

I'm assuming you're not going to be in Zimbabwe next week than? I've got a nice place in Livingston Zambia if you want to pop by!
I PM'd you but it looks like it could've gotten lost in the mix. Anyway I hope all is well.
Thanks again for all the great work you do helping us Americans!
