i understand the commentary was by hometown guys...but it STILL sounded like that ref was on crack, putting R's down to 9 men. my neighbors generally don't like it when i swear loudly on a saturday morning. :)

would love to hear opinions of those at the match...?

So, playoffs it is, then (assuming we don't lose next weekend and Tranmere doesn't make up its something-like -17 goal deficit in their final two games).

Four more games and we're back in the 1st! Come on, you R'!

Can someone explain the rule in England about red cards? Why is the one-game suspension of Carlisle and Kelly to be the first game of the playoffs, rather than the next game (as it would be in MLS)?

For some reason there is a 10 day interval before the card suspension is enforced. I assume its to leave a gap for the (always used) appeal process.

Okay, so that its right? We are in the playoffs?

Even is we lose next game and Tranmere wins their next two, we are in on Goal Diffential, unless of course Tranmere get 17 goals in their next 2 games.

We have gotten results against 2 good sides recently, Cardiff and Crewe.

The thread going recently asked how confident are we about going up. A friend asked me the same thing Friday night. Honestly, I think we will.

In this case, they were both for two yellows, so there cannot be an appeal (according to the QPR site), so the one-match ban SHOULD go into effect immediately!

Forbes going into the lineup is OK, but I DO NOT want to lose Carlisle for a playoff game!!

Pretty much.

1 & 2. Wigan and Crewe are up.
-----
3. Oldham - 45 played, 81 points, +30
4. Bristol City - 45 played, 80 points, +30
5. Cardiff City - 45 played, 80 points, +25
6. QPR - 45 played, 80 points, +23
-----
7. Tranmere - 44 played, 76 points, +6

QPR can still finish anywhere from 3rd to 6th (in reality). For QPR to finish 7th, we'd need to lose, Tranmere would need to win twice, and Tranmere would have to gain at least +17 in goal difference in those three games (even that wouldn't do it if we caught one of the teams above us in goal difference).

So, unless something truly unbelievable happens (say, QPR gets thrashed 0-5 at Colchester, along with 6-0 and 6-0 results for Tranmere in their last two games), we're in.

Jeez Atouk - you almost gave me a heart attack. Tranmere are on 74 points at the moment (pending Mansfield result). 6 points back of us.
