My first match day. Very exciting.
I've spent a fair amount in the transfer market trying to make my team competitive as the idiot who owned the team before me put us in a bit of a hole. We sit currently in 8th at 3 points with a -12 GD. However, there are 2 more teams at 3 points and a team at 4 so with a win today I could pull myself into possible contention to not be relegated. But let's not put the cart before the horse. We were hammered in our mid week friendly 4-0, but I had a poor line-up because I was unaware of the 15 minutes before the match order rule.
Anyway, first game for me as a manager let's see how we do.

Today I pay for last week's MOTS and not yet recovered injuries to all three starting IMs.

He's predictable, but better on most counts. Planning to PIC/CA, focus on one side and isolate his attack advantage to only one wing.
I've done what I can to minimize the damage and maximize the odds of HTRF glory. A draw would be splendid, but a loss by 1 or 2 would probably be alright as well. GD may well play a factor in the relegation battle.
It just gets harder after this, with 4 straight games against league juggernauts...

This is just sad. I'm playing against a guy who hasn't been around. He started his team with only 10 guys, then lost a guy to injury in the 5th minute. With no subs listed, he's down to 9 guys.
Should've PICed this. Hopefully I don't get any injuries.

Playing a former Defense trainer that has awitched to PM. Shouldn't be to hard of a game.

Up against an underperforming #6 team, starting off when an overconfidence warning:
"At the beginning of the game, Chicago appeared to have already taken this victory to the bank."
Need this win to keep supporters mood up ahead of a home match next week.

Pouring rain and 1,520 fans have showed up. 22 minutes in it's 0-0. My goalie made a "prompt block" to save us. They have had a man cautioned.

wow, it feels good to not have a season-long relegation battle... playing the guy who won the league 2 years ago, but is sitting in 5th right now with only 3 points. My team on the other hand, has 9 points from the 1st 4 maches, and is sitting in 3rd...
he's quite predictable, always loading up a massive central attack with a solid defense.. i should be able to take MF and its looking pretty solid i will- 1st time ive ever considered myself the favorite in this the 9th time we've played (he's won 7 of 8)
and i'm up 3-0!

Down 4-0 and another injury to my "injured but playing" top IM. Unbelievable. My season is officially toast.

Down 0-1 at half while holding 64% possesion. Hopefully I'll convert some chances after the break.

Halftime 0-0. Surpisingly the possession is 54 % to them because they have had the only 2 real chances. My 2 best defenders have made mistakes. My center back turned the ball over which almost resulted in a goal and my $40,000 Belgian defender hauled a man down from behind and was lucky to only get a yellow.

i'm in 2nd place, pic'ing on the road against #7. up 2-0 at halftime with 69% possession.
1st and 3rd are tied at the half, so i could be back on top at the end of this.

Saved by the crossbar in the 67th. I'm really starting to think a 0-0 draw would be good the way things are going.

Just tied it up at 1-1 with a long shot. Down one man due to red card though.
edit: up 2-1

Not sure what you'll pull hatstat wise tonight, but in your first game, I'd say take the 0-0 draw if you can get it.

Yuck, it's 1-1 and my team has missed a number of chances.

What are hat stats?
And not to worry they finally capitalized and went up 1-0. We haven't had one positive game tracker update so I don't think my lads have been doing well. My goalie is the reason it's not 3-0. I have very little hope of a late equalizer. Where's that $45,000 Slovenian striker when you need him?

Umm, okay then..
Lost 3-1, but HTratings predicted a passable (high) mid and is usually within a sublevel and mostly underestimates midfield. Yet I only pull a weak (high)!?
Anyone else ever get that kind of a midfield hit due to overconfidence?
