My question is why he would want to leave to go play for West (Just got beat 6-0 by Reading) Ham. They look to be in serious relegation trouble, does Boa want to pad his stats in the Championship next season?

West Ham probably paid wonderfully to gain his services in the salary department... the Hammers have some really nice attacking talent, so, we'll see how it pans out for him.
But, I think we all knew this was going to happen... Boa Morte just didn't seem like his head was in it sometimes, and I'd find it hard to believe that anyone but Michael Brown could captain this team. He's won so many fans over, it's impossible for me to believe that he hasn't won that lockeroom over...
Really, in terms of legitimate captaincy, he's miles ahead of Boa Morte... he beats Luis in work rate and leadership... not offensive talent, not even straight up talent... not really too close... but, in terms of a captain, I think we've made a huge step up.

I always thought Boa Morte's captaincy had as much to do with "buying him off" to stay and his length of time at the club as much as anything else. I think only maybe Knight has been at Craven Cottage longer than the dead snake.
I agree Brown is a great captain choice. You have to wonder if Bullard would have been the top candidate to replace Boa Morte if not for his extremely unfortunate injury at the start of the campaign. McBride is another great choice but I believe I have often read where he prefers to not have the armband.

Per the FFC site, Brown has been named captain.
Boa Morte was on the 2001 promotion side, and for the record, he was a great player for Fulham, and his attacking flair will be missed. However, I don't think he was a great captain, and Fulham South is right, the captaincy went to him to keep him at Craven Corrage and because he had the most tenure.

McBride is incredibly well respected... but maybe too even tempered, and it's not even known if he'll be here beyond this season, alas.

I'm seriously not at all upset to see him go, especially considering some of his comments after leaving.
Have fun riding your "massive club" into the fizzypop league

I love the fact that West Ham has earned all of 2 points I think since Boa joined them.
