This friendly is set for next Wednesday in Geneva. Not exactly a welcome match for the clubs and players of Serie A at this point of the season. At any rate, not sure when Trap will announce his squad. Must be soon.
There is also a U-21 friendly (vs Switzerland) on the 29th and Gentile has called up that team today (note: no Cassano).
Here is the U-21 squad:
Agliardi e
Lanzaro (Cosenza); Amelia (Livorno);Bo-
nera,Brighi,Cannavaro e Gilardino (Par-
ma); Borriello (Empoli); D'Agostino(Ba-
ri); Dalla Bona (Milan);Donati(Torino);
Ferri (Triestina); Gatti (Catania); La-
vecchia (Ascoli); Moretti e Sculli (Mo-
dena);Pasquale (Inter); Pinzi(Udinese);
Pisano (Brescia); Zaccardo (Bologna);
Zanetti (Vicenza)
Both games will be shown live on RAI International.

Trap's callups for this:
Goalkeepers: Toldo, Buffon.
Defenders: Bonera, Favalli, Oddo, Ferrari, Grosso, Legrottaglie, Panucci.
Midfielders: Ambrosini, Di Natale, Fiore, Nervo, Perrotta, Tommasi, C Zanetti.
Forwards: Di Vaio, Corradi, Miccoli
Notice the presence of very few players from Inter, Milan and Juve. Not a coincidence of course. Toldo and Favalli are in doubt after picking up injuries in the Inter-Lazio match last night.

Surprise, surprise, now Buffon is out "hurt". Trap has replace him and Toldo with Pelizzoli and Abbiati. Pelizzoli will likely get the start.

Glad to see Oddo get the call...he has been in great form the last few weeks....
Lets see if Corradi can get another goal for the national team and continue his rise as one of the country's best strikers...

I didn't watch it yet but heard the result on the radio by accident (that's what I get for listening to the BBC World Service!).
I did watch some of the U-21 game, which was quite entertaining even though Switzerland won it, 2-1. The first Swiss goal was scored on a wonderful counterattack in something like the 2nd minute of the game. The second came just after halftime when a Swiss player - who was inside the center circle - spotted the Italian keeper off his line and lofted a perfect shot over his head into the net. Must've been 45 yards out. Great stuff. The Italian youngsters (Dalla Bona, Brighi, et al) poured on the pressure after that, hit the post 2 or 3 times and finally pulled one back in the 90th minute, but that was it.

The newspapers said 60 meters. A spectacular goal indeed.
A rather lucky win for you guys in the Stade de Geneve...

Actually Trap bit his nails until the end, Switzerland did quite well!
